George's POV
I put the gross equipment on and walked out onto the field with Dream.
"Who's this?" Coach asked.
"Temp. We can at least practice today." Dream said.
"Name?" Coach asked me.
"George." I said.
"Okay George, help Dream run drills." Coach said and blew his whistle.

We moved some training dummies into position and ran the practice. Dream took the lead, he was very authoritative.
"Keep yourself straight Luke!" Dream yelled. I loved his tone, I wish he would use it on me.

Then came tackle practice. Everyone partnered up, Dream chose me. I backed up and leaped on him, he toppled over easily.
"Good job." He said and I pinned him down.
"Say that after I'm done." I teased. Dream's expression then dampened. He looked away from me and blinked hard.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked. Dream pushed me off him and walked over to the coach. He talked with the coach for a second then walked away. I was confused, did I do something wrong?

I ran over to the coach and asked where Dream was.
"Said he wasn't feeling well, didn't look too well." The coach said. Now I was more worried. I looked around and spotted Skeppy. I ran to him.

"Skeppy?" I called and he took his helmet off.
"Yeah what's up?" He asked.
"I'm worried about Dream." I stated. Skeppy sighed.
"What happened?" He asked.
"I tackled him, then I jokingly pinned him to the ground." I said and Skeppy sighed again.

"You may not want to do that to him." Skeppy advised.
"Why? Did he have a bad experience with someone else?" I asked. Skeppy just looked down.
"It isn't my place. Talk to him." Skeppy said and put his helmet on.
"I don't know where he is." I said.
"Start at the cafe. He loves that place." Skeppy said and ran off.

I ditched the gear and ran to the cafe. I looked around and spotted Dream at a table by himself, his face tear stained. I sat down and he slowly looked up.
"Hey." I said in a calming voice and held my hand out. Dream looked at my hand and crossed his arms, his expression remained cold.

I took my hand away.
"Please tell me what's wrong. I feel awful." I begged. He took a deep breath.
"It's not your fault." He said.
"Can you explain? I don't want this to happen again." I said. He closed his eyes tight. I looked around.

"Maybe not here?" I said and held out my hand again. This time he looked at it for a long time then slowly took my hand. I pulled him up to his feet and lead him out of the cafe.

We started walking home in silence. He ripped his hand away as soon as we left. I let him.
The walk was silent, Dream looked like he was shivering.
"Cold?" I asked.
"No." He said. I shook my head.
"It hurts me to see you like this. I hope you get better." I said and Dream sighed again.

We got home and I closed us in. I sat on the opposite side of the room to him. I waited for him to speak first.
"It was about a year ago." Dream said, then stopped.
"I'm here for you." I reassured. He nodded and kept going.

"I was with this guy. He had anger management issues, but he never directed much my way. Then one night we ran out of lube. Like a fool, I agreed to let him fuck me without it." He closed his eyes tight and sat down on his bed.

"It's okay, we all make mistakes." I said. Dream then slowly took off his shirt to reveal several small scars that were once cuts and gashes. I stared at them in horror.
"It went on for a while after that. He got more aggressive, and I couldn't stop him. My family begged me to leave him, but I convinced myself that I was all he had. Until I caught him cheating on me with my brother." Dream pulled his knees to his chest.

I walked over.
"Can I sit down?" I asked. He nodded and I sat down next to him.
"If I had any idea that this happened, I would have never done that." I promised. Dream nodded.
"I know. It was like you had his face for a moment. I know it was you, but it didn't feel like it." He said.

"I'm sorry. I'll never do that again." I apologized.
"I'm sorry I just ran off. Sometimes I can't handle things." Dream said.
"Can I hug you?" I asked.
Dream smiled big and held out his arms. I hugged him loosely.
"You'll be okay. You're not with him anymore." I said and he cried into my shoulder.

I let him, and rubbed his back as he did so. His hug was tight as if he would die if he let go. He finally pulled back, his face glossy.
"Thank you. Not everyone would have checked on me." Dream said.
"I love you." I said without thinking. Now I put him on the spot, shit.
"I love you too." He said back immediately. I melted into his arms and he curled up on the bed.
