Dream's POV
It felt nice to be cared for. First it was just George, but now my brother and friends are here for me as well. I've come so far from where I was, now I feel comfortable knowing I'm loved.

George made sure I was comfortable in bed and stayed with me.
"The doctor will be here today. They say they can't reattach the finger." George told me.
"It's okay, I didn't need that finger anymore." I joked.

George looked at a few more bruises on my arms.
"I hate seeing you like this." George said.
"Then stop looking." I said.
"No, it's not... you don't ever seem like yourself when you're hurt this bad." George told me.

"What's myself?" I asked.
"Usually a lot more energetic, a lot funnier..." George trailed off and rubbed my arm.
"I can start telling more jokes if that makes you feel better." I told George.

George cuddled up to my arm and gently rubbed my neck. It felt soft and soothing as opposed to the rough treatment my throat was receiving.
"Fuck." George whispered. He kissed my neck.
"What?" I asked.

"I still can't believe any of this. I'm still waiting to wake up and realize it was all just a nightmare." George said.
"I'm there with you." I said.
"Are you feeling okay, mentally?" George asked.

I took a deep sigh.
"I don't think I'm okay, but I'm not not okay." I said.
"What do you mean?" George asked.
"Well, everything hurts and I want to die, but I won't because I'm in a good place." I explained.

George kissed me. I melted into his touch.
"I'm sorry, you know you can tell me to back off." George said.
"Did I tell you to back off?" I asked and George smiled.

He leaned in and kissed me again, I held his face and he stopped. He put my hand down.
"We should stop." George said and looked down.
"What, just because of a few broken bones?" I asked. George laughed.
"Yes, precisely." George said.
"Okay, fine." I said and smiled at him.

George shook his head and looked at his phone.
"Doctor is on his way anyways." George told me.
"Good, tell him to be here now." I joked. George kissed me again.
"There you are." He said to me. I felt seen, and as always, safe.

The Doctor arrived and got ushered to me. I laid on the bed and let him examine me.
"You took a beating huh?" The doc asked.
"Yep, you should see the other guys." I joked.
"Something tells me I don't want to." The doc joked back.

"It seems you have a few bones out of place, so we will need to take you in for surgery." The doc told me, I looked at George.
"Can I stay with him during the surgery?" George asked. I smiled, I don't know how George knew what I wanted.
"Certainly, all minor problems. He should be better in a month or two." The doc said.

"When do I need the surgery?" I asked.
"Well, you're the king's boyfriend, so we can squeeze you in today." The doc said. I looked at George.
"How soon can we get him in?" George asked. The doctor took out his phone.

"If I call an ambulance now, we could in theory have you on the table in an hour." The doc said.
"Sounds good." I said and the doc stepped out to call an ambulance.

George held my hand.
"You still holding up?" George asked.
"It's more than I thought it was, but I know it will be okay." I said. George pressed his forehead against mine.
"I'm here for you. 100%" George said.

"They're on their way. It would help to get him to the living room." The doc said. George helped me stand and I limped painfully to the living room with him. We both sat down on the couch and I leaned against George.
"Woah, are you okay?" George asked and felt my forehead.

"Does he have a fever?" The doc asked.
"A bit." George said.
"Shit, hope that ambulance hurries." The doc said.
"What's going on?" I asked. George hugged me.
"You'll be okay. Just trust us." George said.

The ambulance showed up and some medics helped me onto the stretcher. George held my hand and refused to let go. I focused everything on George. My mind felt foggy and everything was starting to blur.

"Hold still." I heard them something got injected into my shoulder. I blinked hard and my vision cleared slightly.
"I'm right here." George said and squeezed my hand. I tried to squeeze back, I managed a weak grip.

"Here drink this." The medic told me as we started driving. I took it like a shot and they handed me a water bottle. George held the side of my face.
"This will be over soon. I promise, okay?" George told me.
"I love you." I said and started feeling drowsy.

"He should be passing out soon." I heard the medic say.
George kissed me and pulled back.
"I love you Dream. You are the only thing that matters to me." George said. I held his face and slowly lost brainpower.

He started to go blurry then fade to black.
"George... I love you... don't forget." I said before I completely lost him. I drifted to sleep. Hopefully all my problems will be gone when I wake up.
