Chapter 15

Aaron's face went tomato red in embarrassment when Twilight mentioned the conversation about her between him and AppleJack. He slid his visor on and pulled the sheets up to cover his face, "AppleJack! You've made a fool out of me!"

"Did I go too far?" Twilight asked, looking upset.

"No, it's not you," Aaron replied, "I'm just really, really embarrassed about what was said during that chat, and the fact that you were informed about it..." He groaned, shaking his head at himself.

Twilight tugged on the sheets, and Aaron let his right eye be revealed as Twilight spoke to him, having moved next to his knees. "I've never heard someone say those kinds of things about what most ponies would consider my flaws," she admitted, "I want you to tell me some of your flaws, and I'll tell you what I see out of that in return."

"Well, let's start with the fact that I'm a completely different species," Aaron put out.

"Discord is a different species from Fluttershy, yet they seem to be getting along very well," Twilight replied, "Yes, they're dating, and at this rate, marriage isn't too far off."

"That information came out of Left Field," Aaron remarked before continuing, "Discord is from this known planet, while I'm from a planet in a completely different reality: an anomaly."

Twilight replied without needing to pause, "Princess Celestia knows a lot more about multiversal theories than I do, but the fact that you're here is a sign of further exploration and knowledge. We've been blessed by you being here."

"Even so, I'm not fully human anymore; while I have my full vision back, when I lost my eye, what was left of me was still 100% natural," Aaron debated, sighing heavily.

"You weren't fully human to begin with," Twilight informed, "You've had a heavy infusion of magic and blood donations from Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Discord."

Aaron blinked in surprise. "Huh, go figure. Regardless, I have been known to lose my temper, break down emotionally, and I'm just emotionally volatile in general... like the human phrase: wearing one's heart on their sleeve,"

Twilight snorted a giggle of intrigued amusement before responding. "I can understand why it can be considered a flaw, but it also shows that you're honest with yourself," Twilight continued, "You also seem to have a tendency of being easily startled, but it shows a fierce desire to help, protect, and serve those important to you, and you've brought quite the quantity of new ideas, phrases, and concepts to us, giving us, especially Discord, a whole new concept of amusement and knowledge of physics and magic."

The covers covering Aaron's face hid his eye as a cloud of steam ascended from the scalp of his head. "Is... is this a drawn out way of confirming both ends of our ... emotional expressions about one another?" he asked, cutting straight to the final step of understanding her question.

Twilight fidgeted awkwardly before responding, "I was clarifying what I heard from AppleJack while trying to get my feelings across..."

"Well, for the record then," Aaron huffed a chuckle through his nose and smiled, having dropped the sheets covering his face, "I think we can both say that the feeling is mutual."

"Aaron, thank you for helping me through this," Twilight thanked, "But I would still prefer for you to not have to worry about formalities with me."

"I'll try, but it'll take some mental adjustment," Aaron replied, half jokingly. He patted the space next to his body after setting his glasses lens on the nearby bedside table, inviting her to lay next to him. Twilight knew from the first time that he wasn't going to let her under the sheets he was under, but she settled down next to him, oriented face to face.
