Chapter 21

The newly formed Elements of Connection united their strengths and unleashed it at the villains, sending Chrysalis back to her domain. Tirek was still around, but temporarily dazed; he recovered quickly and snarled at them, "You insolent pests! I'll drain each and every one of you!"

A puff of magic showed that an enraged Chrysalis had returned, "You'll pay for that, you bald, wimpy, squishy, lopsided, cycloptic, inferior abomination of a pathetic alien lifeform!"

"Well then," Twilight growled, "Are you resorting to personal insults now? If you are, then this 'pathetic alien lifeform' is going to send each of you home to your mother in a box!"

"Ohhhhh!" Discord reacted, "That was some spicy roasting; you're gonna need some ointment for that!"

"Actually Twi, I'm going to bury what's left of them in a soup can!!!" Aaron responded slyly, "Besides, I have a bonus to it in that I won't have to get anyone's hands or hooves dirty."

Sunburst and Discord cleared their throats, bringing Aaron and Twilight to their senses.

Twilight was the first to break the silence, "Ær, there... there's something that I want to tell you." She landed on the cave floor in front of him. "When we first met, we really didn't know much about each other in the slightest," Twilight started, "As I got to know you and understand your mind, I realized that despite what we are, you're just like those who exist here. I honestly am so glad that you were the one to be brought to our world, because I've realized I'm, as you'd say, head over heels in love with you."

"Twi..." Aaron murmured in pleasantly stunned surprise.

"I can't bear the thought of losing you, so I made a decision while I was imprisoned here," Twilight continued, her face turning red, "I want us to get married someday, but I know that it'll take some time, and we'll always be a strange pair-"

Aaron picked up Twilight to look at her face to face, "No matter how long, or what we encounter, I will remain by your side for as long as I live, Twi. I... I've never told anyone my age this ever before, but... I love you, with all heart and soul. I'd only want you as a significant other..."

"How touching," Chrysalis observed with venomous, sarcastic irony, "Are you two done yet?! I'd like to end you both in the most painful way soon!"

Aaron turned to look at Chrysalis straight on. His visor retracted, giving her and Tirek a look of his entire face. "What... what is that in your face!?" Tirek shouted in aggressive disgust and fear.

"I love you too, Ær," Twilight replied before she wrapped her forelegs around the back of Aaron's neck, looked at him tenderly into his mismatched eyes, and kissed him deeply.

Aaron wrapped his arms around Twilight's midsection, and gently pulled her closer as his eyelids closed and their kiss deepened. The couple began to glow through the crowns they wore as their affection for each other generated the magic that defeated Chrysalis once before. The magic sent a wave of energy out, picking up Chrysalis and Tirek in a sweep of electric energy, and carried them out of the caves and sent them flying so far that it would be quite some time before either creature would be seen again.

The remaining audience released a gasp of mild surprise. "I don't think in all of my studies I've ever seen something like this before!" Sunburst commented in awe.

Twilight and Aaron broke their kiss and Twilight's eyes widened in surprise, "Ær, I think we need to see Celestia immediately."

Upon arriving in Canterlot, Aaron, Discord, and Twilight rushed to the hospital to see Celestia and Luna. The staff let them see her immediately, and Aaron pulled the jar holding Celestia's magic out and returned it, allowing Celestia to recover quicker. Celestia smiled, "I see that you were successful in your mission, Aaron. I also see that we have a very unusual circumstance."
