Aaron floated around in a black space of nowhere, as far as he could tell. Where am I? He thought as he looked about. He felt a surge of a foreign energy burst through him as a bright light flashed, and he awoke to a sharp, throbbing pain in his left eye, or rather, his left eye socket. He squinted in the bright lights of the candles in holders on the walls. He felt around to search for his glasses, and found them hovering in the air a foot above his chest. He gingerly took them, and was about to put them on his face, when he noticed that the left lens was gone.

"Huh? What in the world happened to-" Aaron started before a wave pain flooded his left half of his face, "Gaaaahhhh!!"

The pain subsided quickly as it had come, leaving him in a slight daze. When his limited vision cleared, Aaron looked at his surroundings. I must be seeing things, he thought as he thought as he shook his head and smacked his cheeks firmly, as if trying to wake himself up. Nothing changed.

"Great," he muttered to himself, "I'm seeing horses, unicorns, pegasi, and some hybrid of all three. I must be delusional..."

"You're not delusional, and you're not seeing falsehoods," a male voice corrected.

Okay... Now I'm just going out on a limb, and guessing that I heard a unicorn speak. I must be going insane, Aaron thought as he sat up in the bed.

"I swear," a female voice huffed in irritation, "This human is really a piece of work." A light blue pegasus was in the direction of the voice.

"Well, excuse me for being absolutely discombobulated and clueless on what the heck is going on!" Aaron snapped, "One minute, I was sucked in through a mirror in my rented dorm room, and the next thing I'm seeing is a bunch of horses standing around me! Of course someone would say I'm being a piece of work!"

He remembered that he was still holding his glasses. He opened the arms, and put them on. As his eye readjusted to seeing through the lens, surveyed his surroundings, and once he saw the details of the room he was in, and his unexpected equine visitors, Aaron began to scream.

It took Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, AppleJack, Pinkie, and Twilight to restrain and calm the human, who was screaming and attempting to pull himself away from them. Clearly, he's afraid of us and needs some kind of help, Twilight thought as White Cross administered a sedative in a dose strong enough to put a pony into sleep, but it wasn't strong enough to do the same with him. It certainly calmed him down physically.

Once he was calmed, Twilight approached the human at a cautious pace, wings tucked in, "Have you calmed down enough, sir?"

"I-I guess..." he replied, clearly still afraid, though the initial shock had subsided.

"Okay, I'm going to ask a couple of questions, and explain how you got here," Twilight planned, "Just, don't panic. All right?"

"No promises on that last part," he stated, "But I'm more than willing to answer some questions."

"Now we're gettin' somewhere!" AppleJack sighed, relieved to be getting more information.

"Alright then," Rainbow Dash asked in an authoritative tone, "Who are you?"

The human recoiled back as if trying to keep away from Rainbow Dash. Fluttershy interrupted Rainbow Dash from speaking further, "What she meant to ask is 'What's your name?'"

"Aaron," he replied, clearly more at ease with the question rephrased, "Aaron Deltian."

"Aaron Deltian," Luna repeated, getting the feel of the pronunciation, "That is an unusual name in terms of how we're named."

"Ooh! Ooh! My turn!" Pinkie squealed bouncing in place, "What were you doing before you poofed into existence here????"

AppleJack expanded the question, "Were you doing a job, learning about somethin'?"

Aaron sighed, "I was in a college dormitory for higher education, but it was summer, so I had no mandatory classes. I had just finished cleaning up a huge mess that another student had made. A wealthy, egotistical, narcissistic student that is known to throw late night parties-"

"PARTIES!?!? I love parties!" Pinkie shrieked with excitement, but Aaron interrupted.

"Well, I'm not so sure you'd like that kind of party," he grumbled, shivering from some bad memories about it, "Everyone there would be spiking the drinks, drugging the snacks, or doing some kind of illegal substances. No one there was in their right mind in the beginning, and was much worse off afterwards. Euulgghhh...."

Clearly disgusted with the description that Aaron gave the ponies, Rarity brought up another question, "So, were you considered an important... human, in your world? Any significant capabilities?"

"No, unfortunately," Aaron groaned, "College classes, room rent, and other daily necessities are expensive, so that the facility and staff can earn a hefty profit. As a result, most students graduate with a huge amount of student loan debts. I had to work a couple of part time jobs to pay the expenses."

"We have one last question for you, then you can ask us some questions," Twilight informed, "Is that okay?"

Aaron nodded, clearly calmer than before.

"We noticed that you don't have any special symbol or mark on you," Twilight asked, gesturing towards her Cutie Mark on her flank, "Why is that?"

Aaron paused to think, clearly caught off guard from the question, "My best guess is that there is a significant difference between my anatomical biology and your kind's. Besides, I'm guessing that each of you have certain innate talents that are unique to each civilian, and connected through your symbols."

"Alright, that's fair 'nough," AppleJack admitted contently, "You seem to be takin' our questions quite well for having just woken up after a week of havin' yer lights out."

"Well, that's the answer to one of my questions," Aaron murmured, before refocusing his attention to his questions, "Okay then. First, I know I'm out of my own world at this, but where am I?"

"You are in the hospital of Canterlot, the capital of Equestria." Luna explained, "Equestria is run by my sister and myself."

"Noted," he acknowledged, "That leads to my next question; who are you all?"

"This is Princess Luna, Dr. White Cross, I'm Twilight Sparkle, and these are my friends;  Rainbow Dash, Rarity, AppleJack, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy." Twilight introduced.

"Princess Twilight Sparkle!" Pinkie chimed in, practically bursting with energy.

"Yikes! Two royal figures in the hospital with me!?" Aaron panicked, not out of fear of the unknown, but of what seemed to be a lack of seemingly needed respect, "Your highnesses, I am so sorry for all this! I'd get on one knee, but I'm guessing that my legs are a bit weak from being unconscious for a week..."

Twilight and Luna looked at one another, "It's fine, Aaron," Princess Luna replied, a chuckle amidst the response, "I'm here to check on your well-being."

"I-it's fine, really!" Twilight agreed, shocked from the unexpected response, "I'm the newest princess to Equestria's history, and typically, a princess is chosen by their actions and merit!"

Aaron looked at Twilight with a concerned look, then at her friends, "Is she alright?"

"Yeaahhh, she always gets like this around clueless newcomers," Rainbow Dash replied.

"Her humility and humble nature often gets her into awkward situations," Pinkie added, "She means well, regardless."

Aaron nodded, "Good to know. I've got a couple more questions to ask..."
