"Focus Frankie," he warned himself. She was not in the best place emotionally at the moment. He quickly undressed himself, picked her up, and stood in the bathtub with her. He folded a towel and placed it on the side of the tub, for her to rest her arm on so as not to wet her cast. He sat down in the tub, making her sit between his thighs, her back pressed against his chest. He tied her hair up on top of her head, exposing her long neck. He saw a few bruises on top of her collar bone. He bent down and kissed her neck softly. He took the loofah and silently washed her body. He felt her relax under his hand, leaning into him as she sat. He didn't dare move, so they stayed like that until the water became tepid.

"Brie, it's time to get out now," he murmured against her hair.

"Just a little while longer."

"Water is getting cold, love," the endearment slipping out naturally.

She leaned forward so he could stand up. He wrapped a towel around his waist as he turned to take her out of the tub. As she stood on the thick carpet, he dried her body with the towel in his hand. He took the clothes he had brought from her house and dressed her, before wrapping her in a bathrobe to stay warm.

Once she was taken care of, he finished drying himself and pulling on his jeans. There was a soft knock on the door just as they walked into the room. Opening the door, a hotel staff delivered the tray of food.

He placed the tray on the coffee table in front of the T.V. "How are you feeling?" he asked her.

"Better," she smiled softly.

"Good, let's have some dinner, and then I can take you home if you like."

She chose not to answer, unsure of what she wanted to do. She walked to the bed and sat at the edge of it. He switched on the T.V. and uncovered the dishes.

"Brie?" he called to her. Seeing that she didn't move, he walked and kneeled in front of her.

"What's wrong?" he asked softly, looking her in her eyes.

"I don't know what to do with my life," she whispered.

"You know what you are going to do next. Which is to have dinner. And for now, that is okay."

He took her hand as he stood up, and walked her to the sofa. "Sit," he instructed. She sat down, curling up her legs beneath her as she did.

"How's your shoulder?" he gestured to her shoulder as he took a bowl and started feeding her.

"It's still sore. I've been given painkillers to help me sleep."

"Are you ready to talk about what happened?" he asked once they finished eating.

"There's nothing much to say. Joseph knows. It seems he knew since before. I don't know how. But he told me I can't see you anymore."

"Are you going to stay with him?"

She shrugged, "I have to."

"Why? Because of Nicky? Brie, if you do not love him anymore, you do not have to stay with him. You are two reasonable adults and you can work something out for Nicky."

"He wasn't reasonable tonight. He wasn't the person I knew. And I did that to him. I made him cruel," she sobbed.

"Listen to me, you did nothing of the sort. You just didn't know that side of him."

He held her in his arms, kissing her tears as they rolled down her face. She lifted her face to him, kissing his lips. She lifted her arm into his hair, pulling his face closer to hers. Her mouth eagerly exploring his, desperately in need to feel wanted.

"Brie," he pulled back slowly.

"You don't want me?" she asked hurt and rejected.

"Far from it. It is taking every fiber of my body for me not to take you to that bed. I want nothing more than to make love to you. But you are not in a good place emotionally. And I don't want to take advantage of that."

"I want you. I need you," her eyes pleading with him.

He lifted her in his arms and carried her to the bed. Placing her gently in the middle of the bed, he pulled down her shorts, kissing her belly and her thighs as he did so. His tongue trailed down her thigh and back up again. She squirmed beneath him, lifting her hips towards his face. She needed to forget everything that happened with Joseph, and Frankie was the only way she could do that. She was using him, he knew that. But tonight, he didn't care.

His tongue found her clit and he gently sucked on it. He pushed his tongue inside her, tasting her. Slowly, he slid two fingers insider her soaking wet pussy, while his tongue licked and sucked her clit. Her moans driving him crazy, he sucked harder until he felt her trembling in his mouth, her saltiness filling his mouth. He took off his jeans and hovered over her, careful not to hurt her shoulder. He pushed her shirt over her breast and the bruises across her ribs looked back at him. He slowly kissed each of them before taking her nipples in his mouth.

Her one hand, grabbing his hair, pulling him towards her. He took her mouth in his, as he slid inside. He pushed in slowly, always making sure not to hurt her. "Harder Frankie," she begged as she pulled his hips to hers.

"Slow down baby, let me love you," he whispered against her ear. He wanted to connect with her, to have her feel loved. That is what she needed, even if she didn't realise it. He looked into her eyes as he slowly pushed deep within her, their bodies slowly dancing together. Her breath became louder and shorter, her feelings welling up inside her suffocating her. "I love you, Brie," he murmured against her lips, her eyes welling up with tears.

He pulsed inside her, as waves shook her body. "Did I hurt you?" he asked when he saw her tears.

"No, you didn't," as she stared at him lovingly. How can she forget that this man has always loved her? She knew she loved him too, but she was not ready to admit it. Not to him, and not to herself. Not yet.

"What time is it?" she asked softly.

"It's almost ten."

She checked her phone to check if Joseph had called her, but nothing.

"I wish I could stay here with you," she whispered.

"Stay."

"You know I can't. Not tonight." Her words giving him a sense of hope.

"Are you ready to go home?"

"Yeh."

Frankie put her shorts back on, and got dressed. As they walked back to his car, she took his hand in hers. Her small hand in his sending warmth to his heart. He held on to her hand as they drove in silence. The closer they got to her house, he could sense her uneasiness growing.

"Are you sure you want to stay here tonight?" he asked as he parked his car. She glanced around and noticed that Joseph's car was nowhere in sight.

"Not really. But I don't know what he will do if he finds out I was with you."

"Are you scared of him?"

Her silence gave him the answer that he needed.

"Stay with me, Brie."

"It's not that simple. I have to think about Nicky. It's not just me."

"Just know that I am here. Always. For both you and your son."

"I have to go now," she tried opening her door without success. Frankie got out and walked to her side, opening the door and helping her out.

"Let me walk you to your door."

"It's fine. It's better I go alone." She tiptoed and gave him a kiss on his cheek, before walking towards her house.
