Chapter 4

'No you are not serious .He his alright and he is on his way home.'Mother said with a shaking voice.The man with all black looked down avoiding eye contact as my mother fall down on her knees,falling into a loud heavy cry state .I stood a few feet behind her ,shocked of what I have heard .My heart stopped beating and my mouth dried out .When reality sank in I ran over to my mother and embraced her into my arms holding her tight as my tears folded down with hers.

My eyes flew open ,my cheeks wet.I sat up while I wiped away my tears.As I was sitting in the dark I heard loud footsteps coming upstairs ,after a while a door opened and closed.Where were Ethan?He missed yesterdays dinner with our grandparents.Why does he disappear and then appear late at night ? What is he doing and with who?

The next morning I woke up with my window half open.The air was warm.I stood up heading to the bathroom to do my morning routine.Afterwards I was dressed in a white tank top with blue jeans and vans .My hair up in a messy bun with no heavy make up.I went downstairs still not trusting the old wooden stairs.Mother was busy with pancakes and Ethan sitting there on his phone."Good morning Sweetie ,I am happy that you are up. I am making pancakes."Mother said with her pink apron on and a spatula in her hand."Good morning ,I would never say no.My mouth are already watering."I said while sitting down next to Ethan.He didn't even look up .

Mother went upstairs to clean herself up after making pancakes.Me and Ethan was still enjoying the pancakes."Where were you yesterday ,you missed the dinner with grandma and grandpa."I asked after a while."I went for a drive." He said not looking up.He sounded off. "REALLY .So dinner with your grandparents whom you haven't seen in a while isn't important ?" I asked frustrated .He is never around and always so private ."Don't start with me ,you don't need to know where I am or what I am doing at what time .Keep your noise out of my business." He said standing up and storming out of the kitchen .Mother come into the kitchen worried written all over her face ."Everything alright Sweetie?" She asked walking over."Yeah ,I am just fed up with his behavior his never around ,we just moved here and his not here .Where can he possible go of to?" I said in a heavy breath.

"Sweetie it's alright ,he just needs his space.Why don't you blow of some seem by being my assistance in viewing the new coffee shop with me?" Mother said while placing a hand on my shoulder."Alright but only if I can have a bubblegum freezing slushy ?" I said while showing a hidden smile.Mother laughed while saying"How didn't I know that you must be convinced."I smiled and gave her a hug.

Mother insist that we should leave as soon as we can .She was overly excited to see the coffee shop which she will turn into a restaurant .We would meet the old owner and there agent .I wasn't in the mood to meet them or to stand and talk about the place but I wanted to show mom my support.As soon as we arrived we didn't wast any time and met up with the owner and agent.They were showing us around and telling us the background of the coffee shop and why they are selling .Mother was impressed with the outlay and the kitchen.After talking about the coffee shop and mother's plans in the future they finally got to the paper work .Mother asked for a few days just to read and verify with her agent which is grandmother in the case.They set a date to meet up again and we all parted.

"Sweetie I cant wait to bake and cook in that beautiful kitchen ." Mother said with excitement in her walk .I smiled thinking of how she would spend hours in that kitchen .We headed off to the nearby cafe for my slushy and mother wanted to quickly buy some food for lunch.We arrived and agreed to meet at the car as soon as we are done.I headed over to the cafe which sell that slushy .As soon as I entered all eyes was on me.I felt uncomfortable and wanted to run out but I really want a slushy.I walked over to the front were a tall friendly smiling lady was standing .'Hi Welcome to Always Slushy how may I help you ?' Tina asked.I quickly read her name tag. "Hi I would like one bubblegum slushy please." I asked with a return smile. "Just wait a few minutes please." She said after placing in the order.

I walked over to sit down at a close up booth waiting for my slush. I decided to check my phone for messages. As I was scrolling throw my messages a gang of teens walked in. All laughing and chattering. I recognize the tall, muscular blue eye boy. I still didn't gave his ball back and neither did I received new flowers. He walked in with that girl next door. She was tugged into his side, no space between them. Following behind them was two blond girls and two hot guys. I assumed that it was his friends and hers.

"Next is number 14 please!" The lady called out. I jumped up walking over to fetch my slushy. The girl tugged next to the blue eye boy, scanned me up and down. Her two friends stood closer to her and also started scanning me, whispering "Fresh meat we are seeing". I collected my slushy and heading outside. What a terrible why to buy a slushy I thought. I waited for mother to finish her shopping.

Mother took for hours and my slushy was already empty by the time she finished her shopping .I was entertaining myself by stalking the next door girl.Her social accounts was filled with herself and some photos she was posing with that boy ,who's ball I still have .I even stalked his social media accounts ,and man was that not the most enjoyable moment ,seeing him shirtless or dressed well or even looking goofy with funny faces .There were no photo of any girls what so ever.Wondering if that the next door girl is then something serious for him.I guess not.

We reached home but a present was laying there waiting for someone, on the porch was laying a big beautiful bunch of sunflowers wrapped in this pattern paper and a small card hiding between the flowers.I gasp at how fresh and beautiful it is.Mother was confused but for me I knew from who and for who it is.I picked it up and smelled it while saying:"I was expecting this for awhile."Mother gave me a question mark before heading inside to unpack the groceries.I run upstairs,forgetting the fright I have for the scaly stairs,storming to my room just to read the small card.I unfold the envelope reading the words carefully .Why is he confusing me now?I don't understand the question mark he wrote.What does he mean?
