It was about three or four years ago when we met.

I always had bad partners, they barely lasted me a few months, or just weeks, and then they got bored of me, so one day my best friend introduced me to one of his friends who he thought would be the best among so many idiots that surrounded his social group, I just accepted and met him. How bad could it get? The worst thing would be if he didn't like me and left me a few minutes later, but that wasn't the case.

That day everything went well, we chatted a lot, we had several things in common, we laughed and, after an hour, we said goodbye and each went our separate ways. We had exchanged numbers, so a few hours later I received a message from him asking me if I had arrived safely, I never imagined that he would contact me so quickly, apparently he was interested, I thought so.

Days went by, weeks went by, a month went by, we talked every day, but we didn't see each other often.

Almost four months after we met, he formally proposed to me, we met at a high-end restaurant, although not as expensive as I imagined, and before dessert, he told me:

- Lix, I need to tell you something. It doesn't matter if your answer is negative, I will accept it. -His tone of voice sounded unconfident. -

- I'm listening, talk calmly. -I said softly, hoping he would relax a little. -

- Felix, I... -He took a breath and looked into my eyes. - I was attracted to you from the first day in that café, seeing you laugh, knowing your smile. I don't know at what exact moment it was, but I started to like you and finally I fell in love with you. Maybe you only see me as a friend, but I would really like to reach more with you than a simple friendship, that's why? -He stopped to take a little box out of his pocket while the waiter brought a cake with a sentence written on it, I read what it said and he opened the box in front of me while he kept talking. - Would you like to be my boyfriend? -I put my eyes on the gift and covered my mouth. It was a silver bracelet with a charm in the shape of a chick. -

- Chris... -I didn't know what to say, I didn't want to reject him, but the words wouldn't come out, and that was rare for me, so I just let out a light laugh. - Chris, you really stunned me. We've only known each other for a few months, and before that, I had just been dumped by someone, so I was really happy to meet you. -I started to notice that his eyes were dropping, so I hurried my words. - I feel the same way about you, don't doubt that, but I don't know if I'm ready for this relationship. -Even I wouldn't understand with those words, Lee Felix.

- I wouldn't mind waiting for you, I don't think my feelings will change for a long time. -He said in a calm voice, already relaxed from his nerves. - Honestly, I'd like our relationship to work out.

That day we finished dessert, I accepted the gift and he put it on my right hand, it sparkled beautifully. The truth is that I liked rings and bracelets, but now I only wear a ring that I can't take off.

After he dropped me off at my front door, the next day was the weekend and we had planned to go on a picnic to a park outside the city. During the night I had thought about it a lot, so halfway through lunch, I told him I accepted his proposal, that being our Day 1. I know it was quick, but I didn't know when someone might like me again, I didn't want to be alone, even though it might have been for the best.

I'd better start telling you how things began to change, especially the way he was.
