Inside Bulma's lab, Callion watched as she worked on a computer that was attached to the new Android she had gotten. In simple terms, Bulma was trying to rewrite Dr. Gero's programming but it was taking her longer than expected because of the complexity. Apparently 16's programming wasn't as complex due to 16 being an actual Android instead of a cyborg. Goku and the others went out to retrieve the dragon balls to wish North City back to the way it was before the attack. After hours of trying, Bulma had finally completed the reprogramming but only time would tell if it had worked. Callion had told her about how in the show the Androids didn't follow the programming of Dr. Gero and still wreaked havoc on the people of Earth.
Only time would tell.
Satisfied, Callion walked out and was suddenly face-to-face with Android 18 which made him stumble a bit. Taking a small step back, he regained his composure and looked her in the eyes. Once eye contact was made, he felt his heart skip a beat.
"Checking on your brother?" He asked calmly and got a slight nod from the Android. He slowly moved out of the way so that she could move inside, but she didn't move at all. She kept her eyes fixed on his as if she was an animal waiting to pounce at the right opportunity.
"Before I check on him." She spoke softly but kept eye contact. "Can I talk to you first?" The teen quickly nodded his head and they both walked outside together to gain some form of privacy. Once outside, they sat down on some of the chairs Bulma had outside and they waited for the conversation to start.
She sighed as if she was getting ready to let something heavy off her chest. "I don't really have a place to stay."
She had said those words so quickly that Callion nearly had trouble hearing her. "I know." He said simply while looking out into the distance. His words nearly caused a gasp to escape her lips and she couldn't quite understand how he'd known. "I figured it out the same day I took you shopping. I saw how your clothes were in bad shape and I also can't figure out a way you could have paid for a place to stay." He spoke as if he'd read her mind.
Looking down at the ground, 18 let out a sigh of relief.
"I wanted to offer you a chance to stay with me, but I figured you'd reject the offer instantly so I've been trying to save up to help you find a place to stay."
"You've been working and finding time to come up with a plan to stop us Androids?" 18 asked with understandable shock in her voice. Callion chuckled a bit and nodded his head.
"Don't think too much of it. I still haven't gotten enough to get you a place but I'm clo-"
"Thank you." 18 interrupted and her appreciation seemed to shock Callion, apparent, by the dumbfounded look on his face. This look caused 18 to chuckle which had once again caused Callion's heart to skip a beat.
Why was he reacting this way to her? He didn't know but the smile on her face made her look even more beautiful than before. Even in his past life as Kazuto, Callion couldn't remember ever having this reaction to any of the girls he'd interacted with.
He hadn't even realized he'd been staring at her. "Sorry." He said while looking away. "There's no need to thank me though. I'm just doing what's right."
Nodding, 18 turned away as well while thoughts began to run through her mind. "Should I ask him if that offer is still on the table?" She questioned then her cheeks began to burn red when she realized that she actually wanted to stay with him for a while.
"You can stay with me if you'd like." Callion said, again it had been like he was reading her mind.
"How is he doing that?" 18 questioned in her own head, but she quickly turned her eyes on him and nodded her head almost desperately and she immediately regretted answering so fast.
Callion tried to hold back his smile, but he just couldn't hide the excitement so a big grin appeared on his face. "Great." He said then stood up. "You can go check on your brother, grab your clothes, then meet back up here so that I can direct you to my place."
18 nodded her head, then quickly headed inside of Bulma's home where she quickly made her way to the lab to check on her brother. As she looked at her motionless twin brother, she didn't even realize the other Android was sitting in a chair in the corner of the room until he moved a bit which startled her.
"16." She spoke with a frightened tone but eventually she relaxed. "What are you doing here?"
"Bulma figured out a way to increase my power a bit so I'm waiting for her to come back with the proper materials."
18 nodded her head in understanding then turned her head back to her brother who was still laying down without a hint of life in his body. It worried her, but for some reason she felt like she could trust Callion.
"These people are good." 16 said robotically as he looked directly at 18 as she turned to him. In truth, 18 had gotten a feeling that they were good as well, but she just couldn't find it in her to trust humans. Dr. Gero was a human and he had turned her, and himself, into a monster made for destruction.
"I know but-" she couldn't even finish her sentence because she didn't feel the need to explain it. She simply turned back towards her brother who had also been hurt by the same human who hurt her. She had no idea how much of her human life she had lost because another human took it away from her.
She could not bring herself to trust another human ever again.
"You trust Callion though." 16 said as if he'd read her mind.
"How is everyone doing this?" 18 thought while she turned to the giant Android once again. "Am I speaking out loud?" She thought while narrowing her eyes at the Android.
"Do you find comfort in him because he isn't a human?" 16 asked.
She scoffed. "I don't find comfort in him."
The giant Android did nothing but turn back towards the giant computer screen that was in the lab. Behind one of the tabs that was running the diagnostics on 17, was another tab that showed the beautiful images of a jungle where multiple images of the birds and animals were being shown.
Images of animals snuggling closer to each other caused 18 to blush as an image of Callion flashed in her mind. She had no idea why she thought about Callion so much, but she did. Whenever she wasn't worrying about 17, she was thinking about Callion and it frustrated her.
Eventually getting tired of staring at the video that 16 had been watching, 18 left the lab and went to grab her clothes from Dr. Gero's destroyed lab which is where she had been staying.
All of her clothes now smelled of sweat no matter how hard she tried to keep herself clean using the cold river water.
Once she got her clothes, she sped back to the blue-haired woman's house but once she saw Callion standing outside, her heart skipped a beat and a surge of excitement. "Maybe it's just the physical attraction because he does look amazing." She then bit her lip but stopped as soon as her feet touched the ground.
"You ready?" Callion questioned while looking at her bag full of nothing but the clothes he had gotten her. She nodded her head and they both took off flying to his apartment in East City.
Once they reached the destination, Callion had directed her to the spare room in his apartment and informed her that there was only one bathroom which meant they would need to share. After that, Callion had decided he'd rest for the remaining hours of the day and 18 found herself walking throughout the apartment. Trying to get comfortable as well as she could but her eyes kept darting back to his door.
Eventually she went back into her own room and laid down on the soft bed beneath her. "It's been so long since I've felt a bed that was this soft." She thought to herself as her eyes began to close. "Why does he keep doing nice stuff for me?"
On another planet...
Hazel stared angrily in the distance as Cell walked behind her. He placed his hand in front of his heart and bowed down. "Your majesty..." he spoke with his usual hiss.
"How could he have failed?" Hazel questioned with a bit of anger in her tone. "I need someone stronger."
"Your majesty... allow me to tell you about my final form."
