Chapter 28

A/N: hey everyone! Welcome back! Good to see y'all again. Remember, Netfix owns the Dragon Prince, Gabeherdon308 owns Trezac, and Manadlore the Survivor owns the Madalorian survivors in the story, I am just the writer.

The earth shook as something big slammed against it, causing birds to fly away, startled by the crash. It was followed by an annoyed growl as a golden dragon with red scales and white fur on his back got up with a growl. His massive horns catching branches, as he tried to move through the forest.

"Tree."

Sol Regem gave another growl, as smoke came from his nose. "Really? I hadn't noticed."

"Wouldn't this be easier if we were flying," the sky-connected human inquired, Callum if he recalled correctly.

"Yes, great idea, let the blind dragon fly you to the heart of Xadia," he remarked. "I'm sure that would go well."

Even though he couldn't see, Sol Regem could tell Callum deflated a little at the reminder, "Oh, right."

From below he could hear the young Jedi give an amused snort. At least someone appreciated his sense of humor.

And before long he could sense the heat of the other human back to darting around his feet. Moving between plants and animals quickly, "This is crazy! Everything here radiates with primal energy!" Callum said.

"Yep, that's Xadia," the daughter of the moon, Rayla replied.

"As fascinating as that is, we do need to keep moving," Trezac reminded.

Sol Regem rumbled approvingly. They needed to move. This forest was slowing them down more than he liked. But as fast as flying was, it was too risky. He could handle crashing into anything besides a mountain, but the younglings and the hatchling...that was less likely. Which meant they had to settle for moving at a human's pace—or rather, his pace as the branches kept tangling with his horns and he kept tripping over large objects because the only responsible youngsters were keeping the other two in line. Which was slightly relieving cause the younglings wouldn't have too many embarrassing things to tell; Sol Regem wanted to at least keep what was left of his dignity.

"Wait just a sec!" Callum called. His heat moved towards him and Sol Regem tilted his head down as the small presence came to his feet, stopping for a moment. "What?! You're kidding me! You are kidding me! Magic dirt! What?!"

Dirt...the human was distracted by dirt. Oh, by the Sun this was going to be a long trip. "Yes."

"Are you kidding?! Even your dirt is magical!"

Sol Regem sighed, for a young human mage, he supposed it shouldn't have been surprising that everything magical was fascinating to him. The western lands lacked magic after all, but...wait, how did he know about the dirt? The young human was connected to sky, not earth.

Of course, he also could be looking too much into it. He had never spent time around hatchlings, dragon or human. So perhaps their energetic excitement was normal. Either way, it was getting annoying.

"Callum, calm down," the young jedi, Trezac he believed, spoke calmly. He could feel a calming pulse come from the youngster, which seemed to momentarily quell the erratic movements of the two children of the sky.

"Right, you should save some of that googly-eyed amazement for later," Rayla chimed in. "I'm taking you all to my home. The other elves will help us get Zym to the Dragon Queen as fast as possible! And, if we get home by dusk, I can show you something special."

"What is it?"

"It's a surprise," Rayla said and Sol Regem heard a small snap of a branch. Undoubtedly the elf was picking a piece of fruit. This was proven a moment later as he heard the young dragon perked up and quickly ate the fruit. "You're home now Zym."
