13 – Home

We went home tired that night. It was cut by my father.

I grew comfortable at the house and around Calum as the days go by. I won't deny that I miss my father, but I can't go back. Not right now. Maybe she knows something about him.

"Yoon?"

The door of my office opened as Niña approached me. Awtomatiko akong ngumiti sa kaniya. She was already holding her bag. Mukhang lalabas na sila para kumain.

"Sir Calum is asking for you in his office."

"Tungkol saan daw?"

She shrugged. "He mentioned he wanted to discuss about the implicit costs of the new engine."

"He needs me for that?" I raised my brows. "That's basic."

Tumango ako upang kumpirmahin ang pagpunta. I left my stuff at the office and locked the door. He looked up to me.

"Implicit costs? Really?" I laughed.

"I couldn't think of anything."

I shook my head and sat down the sofa. Different dishes were at the center table again. Ngumuso ako habang pinagmamasdan siyang ayusin ang lahat. Calum always looked good in any color. He was wearing a deep blue colored button down shirt, while his coat was placed on his swivel chair. He pulled his sleeves before mixing the pasta and its sauce.

"Your personal chef cooked these?"

"Yeah.." aniya saka nag-aya. "Lunch?"

Hindi ako agad sumagot. The fact that he has to lie to Niña just to get me here bothers me. Bakit nga ba sabay pa kaming dapat mananghalian? We eat lunch separately before. Anong nagbago?

"I really feel like we're hiding something because of what we are doing."

He chuckled. "They won't know."

"So, we're hiding something." I confirmed.

I smiled and removed that thought in my head. Several days have passed and we continued what we were doing.

My soul has always seek freedom. I almost have it now. Hindi na dapat ako bumalik doon. The place might be dreamy, but it eventually became a nightmare to me.

"What are you doing here?"

I didn't open my eyes when I heard his voice. Laying on the roof is hurting my body, but I don't mind. The wind and the sky reminds me of the place where I grew up.

I sighed and answered. "Resting."

"On the roof." he emphasized.

"Yeah. On the roof."

He chuckled. I secretly smiled and continued staring at the sky. He left again to get his pillows.
