Day 67
After a short discussion in the mourning, we headed our way out in search of Sophia. Rick and Shane had decided to give out the weapons that Carl had found, and ban anyone from using guns. Andrea was pissed about that, and what pissed her off more was that I go to keep my gun. Since I had survived alone, Rick trusted me to use my gun responsibly. Although I wasn't looking for his permission anyway, it was nice to know he trusted me.
A bunch of the group headed out in one direction, while me and Daryl, unintentionally split away from the group.
"So, you and Glenn?" he asked, as we were both looking at our surroundings, observing anything and everything. The air was moist, and the ground was wet since it was still early mourning, making everything muddy and discussing.
"Huh?" I didn't know what he meant, and I was too focused on looking for clews to look at him.
"Y'all together or somethin'" he clarified, making me stop dead in my tracks, and fight back a smile.
He sounds jealous. Is Daryl jealous!?
"pft, where did you get that?"
"I saw y'all in the RV" he had also stopped walking and was facing me, leaving a couple of feet between us. His face was covered in sweat and dirt, his hair sticking to his forehead as he held a knife in one hand, and his crossbow on his back. His little red rag dangling out of his pocket, his shoes worn out, but my favourite part was his button-up shirt. And how it revealed his beautifully toned arms and shoulders.
And then it clicked. That's when I broke out laughing, he was genuinely curious to find out about me and Glenn.
"Did your nosy ass stay long enough to see us not kissing, and then laughing about it?" I stated as I tiled my head with a hand on my hip. Still laughing as the man in front of me becomes a blushing mess.
"No" he whispered as he turned around and speed-walked away from me. Making me have to run to catch up to him.
"Is it possible that our one and only sunshine is jealous" I raised an eyebrow, now walking beside him. He was clearly avoiding eye contact with me.
"Nah. Keep quiet, you walk too damn loud" he said in a very serious tone, making me giggle, but nevertheless followed behind him.
I found it cute, the way he was so embarrassed and completely out of his comfort zone.
I was surprisingly comfortable and sort of felt safe around him, or maybe it was just the fact that I had someone else out there with me. and I knew that in case of anything, he would have my back. I had missed the feeling of safety, being able to rely on someone. That didn't mean I would let myself actually need anyone, I was fully aware of my surroundings and would not have let myself be in a vulnerable state out there. I was perfectly capable of doing it alone, I just chose not to, and I convinced myself that it was a one-time thing.
Don't mistake it for anything other than the simple fact that I had just missed being around other living humans. It wasn't because it was Daryl in particular, it could've been anyone and I would've felt the same way... I think.

Religion
It's a funny concept, how people believe in something so unrealistic.
I mean our reality is exactly that, but no one is worshiping it, no one's making mythical stories and asking people to follow some rule or follow a path.
I think religious people or the people who started religions are just a bunch of people looking for answers to unexplainable things and using religion as the answer, to be at peace with their own minds.
