It is dark inside the room I just walked in. It's nearly impossible to see I can only see a couple feet around me. Suddenly from behind me, Epsilon starts pushing me.
"Relax, girl." I tell her panicked.
She barks and continues pushing me. We eventually reach an area where I could see. All I saw near me was a greenish-gray river and a small stone ledge. There was a lantern that giving off a red light.
"Hello! Anyone there?" I shout out.
I remembered that the Charon used to ferry souls to the place were they were going to get judged for there afterlife.
"Charon! I need a passage to the mainland." I shout out into the darkness. "Charon!"
"A fee of one drachma is required for my services." I hear a raspy voice speak out.
"I don't have money."
"Then find a way across this river. I don't recommend swimming."
"I do as I please, now come and give me a ride."
"Good luck." I hear him laughing as he floats away on his boat.
I stick out my hand and put it into river. It stings me, and I jerk my hand back. I look at my hand and see that nothing is wrong with it.
Maybe this river doesn't affect me, after all I am Hades. I thought to myself.
Curiously, I stick my foot in and I get the same sensation but nothing happens to foot. I jump in and I feel like I'm burning but I grit my teeth and swim in the direction I heard Charon's voice. I turn around and see that Epsilon is gone.
She must have shadow traveled. Wish I knew how to do that. I thought to myself.
After an hour of swimming through pain, I reach land and I drag myself out and writhed pain on beach for a couple minutes. I get up cold and shivering I stumble a few steps and fall to the ground. I cut myself on a rock and swear under my breath, I tear off a piece of my shirt a wrap up my hand. I stand up and look around and see a huge, empty field, but no one is near me.
I walked for what felt like days but I was never able to find the palace and Epsilon still hasn't reappeared.
A couple days later, I found a cave that seemed to lead up to the surface so I followed it up. I reached the surface and it looks like I'm nowhere near the place I entered. I look around and I notice a city near me, so I hitch a ride to there.
