Jessica groaned, opening her eyes tiredly before rubbing them and sitting up. The world seemed to spin for a moment before it swam into focus. It took her a moment to recall what had happened before she had dozed off, and when the memory hit her, she looked over at where Gaster had been lying. He was still fast asleep, his breathing light and peaceful.
She just didn't have the heart to wake him from his beauty sleep, so she quietly stood up, moving slowly to the endless shelves of books that lined the walls of the lab, picking out the first book that caught her eye, she made her way back to her seat as silently as possible as to not wake up the man sleeping in the bed beside her.

She wondered how long she had been asleep for.

Ugh, I wish I had my watch... She made a low groaning sound before sighing deeply and opening the book she had picked out. She prayed Gaster didn't mind that she had taken one of his books. He would probably break her leg if she didn't put it back in the right place, all right. She shivered slightly at the thought.
Okay, so just do not forget to put the book back in the right place, else you'll get your limbs ripped off by the scary skeleton man with no arms.

She grinned, chuckling at herself, before beginning to read.

Gaster groaned, waking up to the sound of pages rustling. He cracked his eyes open tiredly, his vision blurred.

"Morning, Sleeping Beauty." Gaster heard a chuckle from beside him. He sat up tiredly, wincing slightly when he propped himself up.

"...How long have you been here?"

Jessica didn't take her eyes off the book that was open in her hand, instead she waved an arm idly, "ehh.. A few hours, perhaps? I haven't been paying much attention, this book is rather interesting."

He shot her an irritable look, "Thank you for your input. It was incredibly helpful."

"Woah. Are you always this grumpy when you wake up?"

"I believe I have a right to be annoyed, Jessica. I am unable to use my arms and I can't even stand."

"Aww.. Do you need a hug?"

Gaster glowered at her in the most intimidating way possible, she merely laughed, covering her mouth with a hand.

"Oops.." She grinned, "sorry, I forgot." The look on her face told him that she did not forget in the slightest.

Gaster pushed the heavy blanket off of him, slipping off the bed to stand, leaning against the wall. Jessica immediately shot up in alarm, the book left forgotten in the armchair.

He felt Jessica's arm wrap around his midriff, steadying him. "Be careful!"

He couldn't help but smirk at the change in her tone. He paused for a moment before taking a step forward. Then another. He was cautious not to stray too far from the bed, in case that sense of overwhelming dizziness hit him again.

He slowly began to pace around the bed, frowning,

"hm, it appears I have more strength than I did before."

Jessica had released him, but was still walking alongside him, making sure he didn't collapse, or the like. "That's great. Maybe you'll get those casts off your arms soon, too."

"I sure hope so."

Then, that faint feeling hit him like a truck and he wobbled, his legs threatening to give out from under him. It wasn't as strong, but it was enough to throw him off. Jessica immediately darted over and grabbed him, and he slipped an arm around her waist to balance himself. He stumbled backwards slightly to steady himself. He sat down, grumbling in sheer annoyance.

"Are you okay?"

Gaster nodded weakly, "mhm, the dizziness wasn't as strong as it was before, but..." His voice trailed off. He paused for a moment, before looking at her again, "thank you, for the support. I appreciate it."

Jessica blinked at him for a moment, before going slightly pink. "Aha, it's no problem..." She said, looking rather embarrassed, "I couldn't just let you collapse.."

She jolted suddenly, her eyes widening, "oh! I just remembered, I was supposed to help Toriel with the cooking..."

"Then go. I think you've had a fair amount of your day spent here anyway." He said, winking at her.

"Haha, yeah. Well, take care, Gaster. Please try not to break your skull open whilst trying to stand."

"I'll try."
