Theo's pov:

I went straight to my dorm right after dinner. Didn't stop by to talk to anyone and hopefully no one noticed my off behavior.

As soon as I closed the door behind me it opened up right away and of course I couldn't have forgotten about the person I basically went crying to during the holidays.

"What are you going to do about Aurora?" Blaise asked as he closed the door behind him.

"Nothing." I said as I began loosening my tie and undressing.

"You can't do nothing- Theo!"

"It'll pass." I said as casually as I could. I just regretted ever telling Blaise about what happened during the break. He was quiet for a bit before he began again.

"Are you going to at least tell her what happened-"

"No and I don't plan on it." I said seriously. It felt like a staring match with Blaise, but I think he thought I would automatically relent my decisions of being so secretive.

"Come off it." Blaise said suddenly, breaking our staring match. "If you don't tell her anything, your relationship will be over by September."

"It can be over either now or September. I choose September, so just let me enjoy this while I still have it."

"You don't know that it'll be over now-"

"You think she'll want to stay with me even after she finds out that I'm fucking engaged?" I asked in disbelief. I stuffed my day's clothes in my trunk and kicked it under my bed, the whole time feeling Blaise's gaze on me.

"You've been in love with Aurora for basically a whole year now. You're really just going to give in to your dad that easily?" I could feel Blaise testing me. Seeing how far he could take things, but I didn't care.

I went to the bathroom and washed off the stupid makeup and walked back out. "Look at my face. This isn't going to end unless I do what he wants. And as much as I do love Aurora I'm exhausted and I'm basically going on a suicide mission if I keep going against his wishes."

"You won't get your inheritance, Theo. You can leave next year. You don't have to keep living there."

"I won't have anywhere to go!"

"With me-"

"Your house is not a sure living situation, Blaise. With your mum-"

"With Aurora then." I laughed bitterly.

"It feels like I'm being unfaithful to her... I won't live with her and her parents." I got in bed and was ready to roll on my side away from Blaise when he continued speaking.

"You're just bringing up excuses."

I didn't bother to continue the conversation so I closed the curtains around my bed and went to sleep.

For the rest of January Blaise would continually make little comments when we were alone. All consisting of the 'engagement' I've found myself in. One day in the first week of February I was in my dorm trying to finish an essay quickly for my next class when Blaise walks in. He starts taking off his robe and shoes and falls on his bed loudly. I ignore him all while he's clearly making an unnecessary ruckus while I'm trying to focus.

"Isn't, whatever her name is, your fiance going to start attending Hogwarts?" Blaise rhetorically asked. I threw my quill that I was using on my desk and turned around quickly, angrily looking at Blaise's casual manner.
