a/n- so I honestly can't remember if I had already given Theo a position for quidditch in earlier chapters so i'm having him be a chaser.

Aurora's pov:
The tryouts came and went pretty quickly. I wasn't eager to be part of the team and have to go to every practice so I stuck with the position of substitute to play seeker if Draco somehow got hurt. Elio got to be a chaser.
I was in the library with Theo, quietly doing schoolwork, until he spoke up.
"Why didn't you want to play a more secure position?"
"What do you mean?" I mumbled as I continued reading through a textbook. Of course I knew what Theo meant, but I honestly didn't even have a reason.
"Why stick to a position you know you'll never play?" The tryouts were almost a week ago and it seems like this has been on Theo's mind.
"I don't know." When I looked up at Theo he looked as if he was expecting me to continue talking. "I'm good with this position."
"But I thought you were looking forward to being on the team."
"Don't you have practice?" I asked as I looked back down at my work. I don't know why, but I really didn't feel like talking to Theo about this. Even Elio didn't question me this much on it.
"Are you not coming?" Theo asked as he stood up.
"I don't have to today." Theo didn't say anything so when I looked up I realized he was gone.
When I finished all my schoolwork for the next three days, dinner had already started.
"Why weren't you at practice?" Draco asked before I could even sit down. I took my seat next to Theo and took my time to answer.
"I had work to do." I said. Draco rolled his eyes.
"We're doing a scrimmage tomorrow. Be there. I need someone to practice with."
"What's everyone else for?" I asked.
I think I was starting to annoy him so he simply said, "Just be there." I agreed without argument.
Throughout dinner Draco continued talking about quidditch.
"Our first game is in less than two months. I want you to practice with other positions, Aurora." He was talking to everyone then suddenly turned the conversation straight to me.
I looked up alarmed. "Why?" The few practices Draco was alright with me missing were perfect for all the schoolwork I needed to do.
"We need backups."
"You already have backups for each position."
"We need more."
"Then go get more."
"That's-"
Blaise interrupted what Draco was going to say by standing up from the table. "Let's go get high." he said, exasperated.
We were in the boys dorm room and still Draco was talking about quidditch. He was taking his position as the team's captain a little too seriously in my opinion. He was talking about certain plays he wants to practice more on and all the while Elio was hanging onto every word he was saying.
I really can't blame Elio for being so excited to play. He and I both missed out on so much in the wizarding world, but it seems like Elio is trying to get a sense of everything magic related. Especially quidditch.
