Author's Note: I'm sorry I took forever to update (again), but since Christmas break's over, school has been keeping my hands full, what with my thesis and all.
Check out the trailer for Beautiful Disaster on the right panel! By the way, I suggest you re-read the previous chapter because I added something there. About two paragraphs, which is essential for the storyline. I forgot to put that in last time. Sorry!
Anyway, enjoy!

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
I felt cold.
The doorknob in my hand felt even colder. Sharmaine? No, it couldn’t be. There are probably hundreds of Sharmaines scattered all over the country. But I just had to know…
Bolting out the restroom, I ran down the narrow hallway, and found myself panting as my vision came in contact with a petite woman with teased platinum-blonde hair.
And suddenly, an illogical rage boiled within me. I wanted to punch someone…anyone.
I wanted to punch her.
“Hey y’all!” Her piercing squeal made me wince. She blew a kiss at Jonah and gave him a wink. Man! Now I really did want to punch her! Punch her right smack in the face, knocking that hideous gap between her teeth farther apart. “Ain’t he jist the sweetest thang? Well now, mah name’s Sharmaine and ah’ll be singin’ Ah’m Not Missin’ Ya by one of mah favorite singers, Stacie Oh-ricco. Hope y’all like it.” She snapped her fingers. “Hit it.”
The music began, and as she started to sing, my hate for her increased tenfold. She was actually, well, really good.
Dang her.
Wait a minute.
If Sharmaine’s engaged to Jonah, then what about Dad? Is she cheating on him, or did they get a divorce already? Due to irreconcilable differences, no doubt. That’s always the reason these days. And now she’s got her eyes set on Jonah, whom she’ll no doubt divorce once she’s fed up with him, and she’ll take half his money…and maybe even the Stone Wall.
Oh no. I have to warn Jonah.
Glancing around, I found Jonah near the stage, grinning up at Sharmaine with hearts in his eyes. Seriously, what do men find in her? I looked at Sharmaine with disgust.
Ducking as I passed, I squeezed through the crowd of tables and chairs, muttering sorrys and excuse mes along the way. There were a lot of people in the resto-bar, making this a lot harder for me. When I was finally close, Sharmaine’s song ended and applause erupted, and Jonah was making his way to the stage again.
I grunted and decided to wait until Jonah got back.
“Didn’t I tell ya? Ain’t she a beauty?” Jonah beamed as he hooked his arm around Sharmaine’s slender waist.
“Oh, stop it.” Sharmaine gushed, fluttering her fake lashes. I wanted to gag. The audience laughed.
“Sing another song!” Someone from the audience screamed, and to my horror, I realized that it was Caleb, my own brother.
