London. One of the world's most powerful and expensive cities. At least, that's what my father told me. With its busy streets and buildings that stretches so far, further than what the naked eye can see. But why am I talking about good old, beautiful London? Because between all the muggles, a small, but also a powerful, magical world lives among them. The Wizarding World.
Leilani Powell. Daughter of Beyron and Evanora Powell. We are what you call Pure-Bloods, but living a life like the muggles. You see, my parents do not like to brag about our 'precious' blood status, unlike some families.
Father decided that it was best to live amongst the muggles. Before I was born, they moved to Merton, a lovely little neighbourhood, approachable to all shops and necessary transportation. And now, 11 years later, we are still living happily in our 3-storey family home. Although we are living in the muggle world, does not mean that my parents are working there.
Father works at the Ministry of Magic, in the Auror Office department, where the ministry employs them to pursue and apprehend Dark Wizards. Mother, though, is a perfectly, normal house-wife.
That is all you need to know of me, for now.
Today was a wonderful day to enjoy the outdoors. The sun was shining, not one cloud in sight. Birds were happily chirping outside. Days like these were rare, you usually got days that were cloudy, grey, ugly-looking clouds covering the sky, giving off a dull vibe. Then you get those rainy days, where it rains the whole day, pouring down little droplets of ice cold water. Obviously there are sunny days, but not all of them are the hot kind. The sun will shine, but it will feel cold. There are sunny days where you can feel the heat, but not today's heat. It's an unusually hot day today, where you only want to be in your summer clothes, the thin kind of fabric.
My parents and I decided to have a picnic at the park that's located near our home. Dixie, our white and brown coloured Husky, tagged along with us, to join this pleasant day.
We found a spot under a big tree, the branches covered the whole form of the tree, nearly touching the ground. While my parents laid out the blanket, along with getting out the prepared lunches that mother had packed in the picnic basket, I took the ball that I forced inside my pants' pocket, and urged Dixie to play with me.
I held the soft, pink tennis ball above my head, ready to throw it while she stands ready, in a position where her backside is in the air, while her frontside is on the ground. I suddenly threw the ball as hard as I could, as it zoomed through the air and landing on the soft, green grass, bouncing against the fence. Dixie sprinted towards the ball and almost ran past it, which earned a bubbly laugh out of me.
This routine went on for a while; me throwing the ball while Dixie goes and catches it. There were a few times that I died - of laughter. Dixie running so fast, she did not even realise that she ran a young athletic man over. I had to hold my hand over my mouth, in order not to laugh, although my face turned red and it almost looked like I was trying not to cough or something. My aim wasn't that bright either, as I almost hit an old man, that was sitting on a bench, reading his newspaper. The ball missed him by a few inches, but luckily he didn't notice a thing, I was so relieved!
While I observed Dixie, waiting for her to bring back the ball, I heard the sweet voice of my mother calling for me. I turned my head in her direction and saw her gesturing me to join them for lunch. I nodded as I turned my head back, to see how far Dixie was. I mentally groaned when I saw her leaning against a tree, barking at a squirrel, the tennis ball long forgotten.
I stomped my way to the ball and picked it up. I looked at the ball and an idea popped into my head. Grinning like an evil-looking person, I glanced at Dixie from the corner of my eye. I sneaked up behind her until I was a good distance from her. Seeing that she is still occupied with the squirrel, I smirk, picking up the ball and lifted it above my head. I threw the ball, not hard, hitting her on her back, and in one swift movement, I turned around and sprinted to my parents. I turned and with disappointment saw that Dixie did not follow. I slowed down and eventually stopped. I blew air out of my nose, frustrated and jogged towards her. I pat her head, to which she finally noticing me, and picked up the ball beside her, and made my way back to my parents. I gaped at Dixie who hopped happily next to me. Shrugging, I plopped myself next to my mother.
