Today was the day that I finally leave for Hogwarts. To say that I was nervous was an understanding, because it will be the first time that I'm going to be away from home for a long period of time. We walked into King's Cross Station with all my luggage and Athena. Father found a trolley at the entrance and dropped my stuff in there, and put Athena's cage on top of it all. He pushed the trolley while mum and I walked behind him. Mother held my hand, a little tighter as always. We strolled through the station, pushing through crowds along the way.

We walked for a few more minutes until my father stopped in front of a wall. He let go of the trolley, turned around and walked towards me.

"Do you have your ticket?"
He asked.

I nod and fumbled in my Jean pocket. I pulled out a cream-colored rectangular paper, surprisingly unwrinkled. It had a gold 2-D border and inside the border there were writing. 'LONDON TO HOGWARTS. for ONE WAY travel. Platform 9 3/4.'

Father pursed his lips and gave a quick glance at the wall behind us. Before I could question him of the wall, he began to speak.
"Okay, sweetheart. What you have to do is to run with your trolley straight at the wall. You don't have to worry about crashing into it. It's a barrier to go onto Platform 9 3/4. So you're going to go through the wall."

"We will be right behind you, darling."
My mother encouraged, giving my hand a squeeze before letting go.

I slowly walked towards the trolley and grasped its handle. I looked up at the brown-ish red brick wall between platform 9 and 10. I closed my eyes and took a big breath, releasing it after. I kept my eyes on the wall and began to push the trolley towards the wall. When I was a foot away from the wall, I suddenly closed my eyes and waited for the impact, still running though. I felt no crashing, so I opened my eyes and saw that I was on the other side of the wall. On the platform of 9 3/4. I stared in amazement at the whole other world I'm standing in.

I turned at the corner and came face-to-face with the Hogwarts Express itself. It was a big, red and black steam train. Hundreds of kids were busy piling into the train and some bid their parents farewell. I felt two warm hands on both of my shoulders.

"Let's take your luggage at the pick-up."
Someone softly spoke into my ear, and I noticed it was my dad.

He lead me towards the back of the train where a tall and skinny looking man was putting away the luggages. I left my luggage and Athena there so that the man can put it away. I walked back with my dad, to my mum who was standing against one of the walls. As I drew closer, I saw tears glistening in her eyes. She gave me a sad smile and that was when I ran to her and hugged her around her waist. She chuckled softly and hugged me back.

"I'm going to miss you so much, sweetie."
She said softly, kissing the top of my head.

"I'm going to miss you too, mum."
I mumbled into the fabric of her red dress.

I looked up at her through my lashes, while she stroked my cheek with her thumb. She let me go and I turned my attention to my dad. He was leaning against the wall, arms folded and looking at us with a loving expression.

I gave him a grin and raised my one eyebrow, putting both of my hands on my hip.
"Are you gonna hug me or not, old man?"
I sassed.
