BIRTHDAY SURPRISE
If there is one thing that I love about winter, is the simple fact that the weather is so cold, that it makes it impossible to be uncomfortable wrapped in your blankets sleeping the day away, and to make it better, my birthday. So yes, today is my birthday, and I couldn't be happier than I am at the moment, wrapped in my blankets like a caterpillar, sleeping as peacefully as sleeping beauty once did.
Okay, maybe there is something that can make it even better, and it was the smell that surrounded the house at the moment. It smells heavenly, just like blueberry and chocolate muffins and the perfect morning coffee. Taking in a deep inhale, I remind myself about how much I love coffee. Closing my eyes once again, I tried to bask in the last couple of minutes or seconds before my mother would barge into my room and wake me up for the birthday breakfast, that she was preparing.
The creaking of the door alerted me, making me hide inside the duvet. The steps that followed the creaking sound, weren't my mother's, as these were a tad bit heavier, but I didn't want to think who owned them. As I prepared myself for my mother to rip my duvet away, I waited, only to be met with silence.
What is going on?
As I was about to come out and figure out what was going on, a huge body landed on mine.
"IT IS TIME TO WAKE UP SCOTTY SCOOT!" Slate voice sang, making me laugh. I grunted and wriggled, trying to get myself from under him. "How's the baby today?" He asked, but before I could even think of a reply, he was attacking me with tickles.
"STOOOP!" I shouted with laughter. "SLATE!" I shouted before I bit something.
"OI!" Slate exclaimed as he fell off my bed. "That was so uncalled for Scotland!"
I sat up with a smile and turned to face my best friend who was currently thrown on the floor, with the same goofy smile that I sported. I stuck my tongue out at him and his response was to wink at me. I rolled my eyes, why is he always flirting with me?
"Not that I mind," I yawned. "But what are you doing here?"
"Well," He started. "I wanted to sing happy birthday to my biggest fan and the best friend of all time," Slate finished with a smile of a kid on Christmas day.
"Are you going to sing to me?" I questioned and he laughed as he stood up. "Slate? Answer the question,"
"Right now, nope," Slate replied and winked. "Your mom asked me to wake you up for your birthday breakfast," He said. "I suggest that you fix your bird nest before you decide to join us," I mocked him. "After breakfast, I do have a surprise for you,"
"Slate!" I whined as I got off my bed. "You know that I hate surprises," I pouted.
"You're going to love this one," He said kissing my nose. "Meet me downstairs," He said walking towards the door. "By the way," He spoke turning around. "I love your Mickey PJs," He laughed as he ran out of my room.
"Idiot!" I shouted with a laugh before entering my bathroom.
Slate was right, my hair looked like a huge birds nest. Letting out a sigh I brushed my hair and then proceeded to tie it up on a messy bun, before washing my face and teeth.
I licked my lips as I stared at my reflection. I don't get why Slate is always completing me, I am just a fairly average person. What has me even more confused than his constant flirting with me, is how on earth he is still single. He is a Greek God and the perfect man... Umm, do me a favour: don't tell him I said that, please...
