Pumpkins

Y/N POV (mini time skip)

September 1st is creeping around the corner and for some reason I'm nervous, I guess I'm nervous for the first years going to Hogwarts maybe.

Today, I was working in the pumpkin patch, only because Hagrid has a meeting with Professor McGonagall which wasn't the most exciting thing to hear, it was a bit terrifying, that woman is scary let's be honest.

HAGRID POV

McGonagall was coming to see me today, I knew it concerned wee o' Y/N. She 'ad been wanting Y/N to attend 'ogwarts since she was 13, I want to keep 'em safe, but unfortunately, I cant teach 'er everything she needs to know.

Y/N POV

I was watering the pumpkins and other vegetables when I noticed Mcgonagall apparate a few feet away from me, stunned, I shyly wave at her with an awkward smile on my face, she returns the gesture with a sweet smile and slight nod of the head before heading for Hagrid's hut.

HAGRID POV (small-time skip)

"Rubeus, she must attend, you can't keep hiding this child from reality, I understand you want what's best for her but you also need to understand what will benefit her."

She didn't sound mad, she understood where I was coming from. "Minerva, I just want to protect 'er, but I know it will be best for 'er, and I know I'll still be seeing 'er when I'm teaching, I just don't want 'er to be bullied." there was a silence for a while

"Well Rubeus, what will it be, it is ultimately your decision, you are her guardian." she clasped her 'hands together.

Y/N POV

I quickly ducked away from the window and sprinted back to the garden and began watering the plants again, trying my best to act completely natural. I was so focused on not acting suspicious I didn't notice both McGonagall and Hagrid standing behind me.

"er Y/N?" I turn my head around and I see Hagrid looking worried, fiddling with his fingers and his head tilted towards the floor whereas McGonagall looks very pleased, head held high and amazing posture. "I know you've been wantin' to go to 'ogwarts..." he begins to shuffle his feet and groom his beard. "Rubeus..." McGonagall insists that he continues to keep talking. "what I'm tryin' to say here is.." he pauses and gulps, "'ould you like to finally attend 'ogwarts Y/N?" I couldn't believe it, the one thing I've wanted most in life was happening, I was stunned, I tried to make out any type of sentence but I couldn't, I was so thrilled, I launched myself towards Hagrid and gave him the biggest hug, he instantly hugs me back started to realise he made the correct decision. I pull away from the hug and face Mcgonagall, it would be inappropriate to hug her I think, so I shot out my hand in her direction for her to shake it, "I'll see you 1st of September Y/N" she shakes my hand and smiles through her words.

Short chapter but it really is just a filler so we have background info <3
