#27 Wedding

Jayla's Pov

I woke up with someone's arms around me and my head in someone's chest, then it all came back, the trial, Alec carrying me to bed, me asking him to stay, and now it's all going to be over, he can't be mine as much as I want him to.
" Morning, beautiful" he stirred tightening his hold on me "Morning, Alec" I said, just taking in his embrace. I looked up to his hazel eyes and messy black hair. My finger absent-mindedly traced the runes on his chest.
"Did you sleep okay?" He asked, his voice rough and deep "Yeah, actually the best sleep I had since we broke up, you" I replied mumbling the last bit, and lowering my head to see his runes better. "Jay if you were struggling to sleep, you should've told me" he said, voice laced with concern. "I know, I'm sorry, I just didn't think you still cared" I told him truthfully " Jay, look at me" He said, putting his finger under my chin gently to raise my head and look at him. "I promise, I'm always going to care about you, no matter what, if you ever had a problem you can talk to me, love, you know that" He told me, I tried not to melt when he called me love but I know he could tell how it affected me. "I will from now on Alec, I promise" I said, moving my fingers to trace the rune on his neck. His breath hitched as I did, I laughed lightly "well, someone likes that" I whispered teasing him "Good girl, for doing it" he teased back, my whole body froze for a second, as a million thoughts raced my head, he laughed and let go of me and got up.
"As much as I'd like to lay in bed all day, we have things to do today" He said trying to find his shirt "Like what" I replied grabbing his shirt since I saw it before him and putting it on after taking off my own. "The wedding is um today. Hey, that's my shirt... Oh well keep it" he paused after telling me about the wedding "Oh, well, guess I best get ready then" I said leaving the room

As I left, I heard Izzy giving commands to the wedding helpers I'm guessing. "Hey, Izzy" I said "Morning, sleeping beauty" She replied "wearing Alec's shirt I see" she teased and I shushed her "How are we supposed to get any work done with this going on" Jace said as he entered the institute "What crawled up your arse and died?" I asked him "We haven't had a wedding here in years, people are allowed to be excited" Izzy said to him "We need to focus. Have you narrowed down the list of warlocks, stronger than Magnus bane?" Jace asked "Hey, don't diss my boy Magnus, he saved Izzy yesterday" I said "I've got it down to 20" Izzy sighed "but it's gonna be hard to figure out which one cast that spell on Jocelyn" Izzy added "Of course we're talking about Clary, not like this is Alec's big day, y'know you're parabatai Jace. That guy" I said "I don't care how tough it is, we've got to find him" Jace said "Back at brenwicks I let Valentine go. I won't make that mistake again" Jace added sadly "Wait what hold the phone, you had valentine" I said, the first most interesting thing he's said this morning "Yes, but I let him go, and he told me something" Jace hesitated "Oh so now you finally talk to me, and what, is this storytime with Jace" I said "Jay, can you not joke for 2 seconds" Jace told me sternly "Fine, fine whatever, just tell me" I replied "He's our father Jay. Mine, yours and Clary's" he told me "hahaha, funny one, Jace" I laughed, but he just stared at me "Oh you're not joking" I realised "oh shit" "yeah" I hugged Jace not knowing exactly how to react.
"We gotta wake Jocelyn up, incase she knows something about his plan" Jace added

- I know there's a lot that happens in this episode kinda, but I wanna skip to the wedding so yeah-

-Wedding time skip-

I was wearing a black dress that came to the floor and had hints of purple on the bottom, and light makeup on my face. I was at magnus' as he was helping me get ready "You look gorgeous buttercup" he said, "Thank you mags" I said "What's on your mind, buttercup" he asked me "Just how much this is going to hurt, seeing Alec getting married another woman, I can't do it" I told him truthfully "You're strong, you can do this" "We're gonna be late, Magnus" I said "oh well, we'll be fashionably late" he said and I laughed a little.

The doors slammed as we entered. There he was, Alec, about to get runed, he looked so handsome up there, and I have to admit Lydia looked beautiful. "What's that warlock doing here?' I heard Maryse say. Alec was staring at me from the front, "We should go Magnus" I whispered grabbing his arm, to try leave but wouldn't move "No, buttercup, we stay" he whispered back.
Izzy and Jace started talking to each, as Maryse turned towards Alec whose gase didn't move from mine. However, Maryse got up and started walking towards us "Magnus, leave this wedding, now. And Jayla  you can go with him" She said as she came closer to us "Maryse this is between, Jay and your son" Magnus waved her off.
Alec and Lydia started speaking before he turned back to me and started walking towards me. "Alec what are you doing-" Maryse started "Enough" Alec shut her down and continued walking towards me before, grabbing me and dipping me before crashing his lips onto mine, it's like time stopped again, all it was, was me and him. He lifted me back up and took a breath before re-connecting with my lips. My heart was racing as my hands found their way to his face, gently holding it as his lips rested against mine. "I love you, Alec" I told him breathless "I love you too, love" He said back "what did I just do?" He questioned himself before his mother and father walked away.
