#9 Magnus Bane.

Jayla's POV

I went with Izzy and Alec to secure the perimeter. We were walking back to them "All clear" Alec said I was stood next to him and Izzy had linked her arm with Clarys. "Damn, I make this necklace look so good." Izzy said touching the necklace. "Will you take it off? I'm certain Magnus Bane wouldn't want drool on his ruby when we make the exchange." Alec said "You know.  I wouldn't be so sure. Most men like it when I admire their jewels." Izzy said looking at me and Alec with a smirk. "Can you just give it to Jace," Alec said. She took it off and handed it to Jace "You're such a buzzkill," She said.

We finally got in. It was really crowded and loud. "Blend in. Keep your weapons ready." Jace said walking away with Clary. Me, Alec and Izzy stayed back. Alec's hands found my waist and he pulled me to him. "You know, how many downworlders are staring at you right now," Alec said jealousy in his voice "Someone jealous. I'm yours Alec no one elses" I said "Can you two flirt later? We're on a mission" Izzy said. I smirked and kissed him.

"What is taking them so long?" I complained "Just have patience" Izzy said, I rolled my eyes.

"Alec over there" I said pointing towards Magnus. There was someone with a circle rune. "Look out!" I yelled. Alec shot the person. We both walked down and Alec went to get his arrow. "Who are you?" I heard Magnus say. "Hey Magnus" I said. "Biscuit, how good it is to see you again." Magnus said hugging me "You look stunning. Also who is that guy?" He asked me "Thanks and unfortunately he's taken" I said "By who?" He asked again "Me," I said "Lucky he's a keeper." He turned away "Magnus, wait." Clary yelled "You're my only hope," She said "Valentine found us, I warned your mother this might happen" Magnus said before going through the portal. "The area's secure. Looks like he was the only assassin" Izzy said "Great now we to go back to the institute" I said "He has a circle rune on the base of his neck," Alec said "They found us. It's not safe here. Clary, we have to go" Jace said we all started walking away but Clary wasn't following us. "Clary..." Jace said walking over to her.

We walked out of the club, I was stood with Alec and Jace and Iz was with Clary. "Jace." Izzy said Jace looked back "Clary we have to move" Jace said "I'm catching my breath" Clary said. "You know what? This is great. Not only did Magnus not get the girl her memories back, he took the necklace. This is fantastic--" Alec said frustrated. I grabbed his hand and ran my thumb against his knuckles. "Alec, the girl her name is Clary and I highly suggest you keep your voice down." Jace said. "Why? What are you afraid I'm going to upset her? We have risked our lives again and again for this girl, and where has it gotten us? All right? Nowhere. We're no closer to finding the Mortal Cup. And we've lost the institutes necklace." Alec snapped. "Hey, I am right here. I don't care about your damn jewellery. I'm sorry you're going to look bad in front of your bosses, okay? But my mother is still missing and my last chance at finding her just disappeared into thin air." Clary snapped. "Clary it's going to be fine." Jace said "No, it's not! People are dying because of me. And Magnus? Magnus will never come out of hiding again while Valentine is still after him. We're never going to find him. And I will... I will never get my memories back" She said throwing something to the ground. Jace caught it "You give up way too easy," He said. He walked a little bit away from us and started tracking Magnus. "What is he doing?" Clary asked "Tracking Magnus. Keep your distance and be quiet" I said "The button belonged to Magnus. Jace can pinpoint the location using that." Izzy explained "No. The signal's not strong enough. Magnus must be blocking the track. Let's do this, Alec." Jace said, Alec let go of my hand and walked to Jace. "Do what?" Clary asked "Parabatai tracking." I said said "Of course they are." Clary said "When Parabatais track, their powers grow stronger. Jace and Alec are going to track Magnus together" Izzy said "Yeah, this whole parabatai thing seems oddly intimate if you ask me." Clary said "You don't know the half of it." Izzy said. Jace shook his head "Got him." He said walking away.
