She didn't know if they thought she was dumb or just so loyal to them.

"Yea yea! Just how long is this going to go on?! You've already been chained for 6 years now!!! You said you'd get her money and leave! So what is with this mess about her having kids?!!! The only reason I've been letting you date her is because of her money! You can't leave me ok?!"

"*Sigh* It might have been a false pregnancy test. We both know she can't have kids anymore. Besides, even if she did somehow get pregnant, then I'll just get her to abort it. I promise I won't ever leave you."

She didn't know that a person could put up an act for years. She didn't trust her instincts and now she might as well meet her demise. She didn't even trust her own friends, who had always wanted the best for her.

"What do you mean I shouldn't talk to my sister and her family anymore?!"

"Do you want to disgrace your husband by being friendly with those who degraded him?!!!"

"I can do whatever I want. Besides, their problem is with YOU not ME!!! You shoul-"

Slap.

She didn't know when she had fallen so low. She didn't realize that she had become such a fearful woman. The woman who she thought she would never even come close to being was not staring back at her from the broken mirrors.

"Darling, you must always be careful of the people you get close too. Sometimes they'll lead you to the pits of hell making you think that, that is what you deserve."

If only she hadn't needed to learn this the hard way. If only she could still reach out towards the light and become the strong and brave person she was.

"No matter how much you hurt... Just remember... To... Survive."

"Survive?"

"That's right deary. If you can survive through hardships then all you have to do is just find your own happiness. Whether that's with the people you love. Or without them."

Her phone rang as she fell out of her daze and grabbed over her bed to reach it. A small smile reached her face as she looked at who the caller was.

"... Mom."

It was the same sweet voice she'd heard ever since she was born. The same voice who had fought with her, the same voice who had loved her and the same voice who she knew would give her heart to her.

"I'll survive."

That's all she needed to say.

I won't let pain turn my heart into something ugly. I will show you that surviving can be beautiful too.

She needed to get herself back together.

'I guess I should start with slapping that guy at least once...'

A dry laugh escaped her lips as she thought about him. Her past self would've been so disappointed in her right now.

"*Sigh* I need to get to work."

Standing up, she dragged her tired feet to her wardrobe and picked out her regular outfit. After some breakfast, she grabbed her gun and bag and left out the door.

"Ordelia! You're late. Again."

Sung Jin-woo grumbled as looked towards his long time friend. After her tragic break-up, he had decided to keep an eye on her.

He paused as he stared at her for a bit. From the past 3 years since he'd known her, she had always been quiet. She had self esteem issues, she was very anxious about every little thing and not to mention, she was always trying to lock herself away.

This was the first time he'd seen her so... Free.
