Darkness.
Nothing but pure darkness.
I walked straight ahead and felt something. What?
A single light fell on the object. It was Tanner. He smiled and it was like I had never left Tennessee. It was like my pain was gone for good because we were together, and we were happy.
But then I was pulled away. Away from my happiness.
It was dark once again. I knew what to expect. Or so I thought. This time instead of Tanner being there, it was me. It was my reflection and coming up behind me was Colt.
We were now in a rather large room. Like a house with no walls. In a corner I saw Tanner laying limp and lifeless on a bed.

I woke up screaming my head off. My mom ran in asking "Whats wrong?!?!""Just a dream. A nightmare really. What time is it?"
"11:00. When did you get home last night?"
"1:00 AM."
"Layla told me everything. Are you okay?"
Moms. "Yes Mom I'm fine."
"Okay sweetheart." And she left.
I checked my phone as I usually do when I wake up. I half expected a text or missed call from Tanner. None. I did however, have a text from Colt that read, "Good morning. You sleep okay? Still up for dinner tonight?" from 30 minutes ago.
I texted him back, "Just woke up from a nightmare. No big deal though. And yes. Still up for dinner"
I got out of bed and skipped on breakfast. We'd be eating lunch soon. I called Emma. She was wondering what had happened so I retold the story, the scenes playing in my head.
When I hung up, I had to get ready. I put on a long, spaghetti strapped sundress and a sandals, with a light sweater in case I got cold. I loosely curled my hair and applied just mascara and concealer.
Lunch was good. We ate at Water Grill, a seafood place, and I got a seafood salad. After lunch we went shopping for anything I'd like.
After that, Layla ran me home to get ready for my day with Colt.
She dropped me by his house for the first time and she said, "Dang, Grace. How rich is this guy?"
"I don't know. It's not really something I think about."
I was greeted by Colt at the door. "Hey. You look nice. Ready to go?"
"It's 3:45 and I just ate. I don't really feel like eating dinner right now."
"We're not going to eat just yet."
"Then where are we going? No wait. It's a surprise isn't it?"
"You got it."
He was dressed nicely. Jeans and dressy shirt. I hopped into his car and we drove off to who knows where.
