"Where are we going Colt?"

"You'll see."

He pulled up at the boardwalk and got out. I did the same.

"What are we doing? Why are we here?"

"Walking. And just cuz."

Odd. But okay. We walked and talked as we went along the boardwalk. We went down to the beach even though I was in no outfit to do such.

Then out of nowhere he asks me, "Would you like to go to prom with me?"

"Excuse me?"

"You and me at prom. Together."

"Uhhhh Colt... I'm flattered but we like seriously just met."

"I know. But when I'm with you I feel something amazing."

Awwwwwwwwwww.

"Me too." I thought it over for a bit and replied, "Yes, I'll go to prom with you."

"Sweet! It's not until April but someone like you might get taken so I figured why not ask now?"

"I would've turned people down until you asked me." I was truly in love with him. I did exactly what I told myself not to do but I don't care. I was in love and I was proud of myself.

We walked and talked, and laughed 'til it hurt. I love LA.

"Grace! Wait, Grace!"

"What Colt?" I wondered why he was being so frantic.

"It's not me."

"Then who could it-"

"Gracie!"

It was a repeat of my dream at the plane, when I first arrived in California...

No, it can't be.

I turned around and sure enough there was Tanner running towards us with Emma not too far behind.

"I'm sorry Grace! I tried to stop him!" She called. What was so desperate that Tanner just had to ruin my date for?

Tanner was only a few paces behind me so he slowed abruptly and began talking. "Grace, please. I was a jerk last night, I was mad. But I just want you to come home, to Tennessee, where you belong. Please, for me."

"Tanner, I said we're through. Stop saying 'please'. I love it here in LA. And there's nothing you can do to change it."

"Not even this?" He leaned and kissed me. He kissed me like he was about to die and this was one last wish. He kissed me like he loved me.

And I loved him. But not in the way he thinks.

I pulled away. "What are you doing?!?! Um, I'm kinda already dating someone!"

He was completely lost for words. I stood there staring at him waiting for a response.

Colt spoke up, "I would suggest that you leave her alone. She said she was through."

Something might've clicked in Tanner's brain because he decided to talk now. "She's through all because of you. All because of you." He was clearly mad at Colt for winning over my heart. Colt couldn't blame his nature.

While I was lost in my thoughts at what happened, a fight broke in right in front of me. It was Colt versus Tanner.

This is all my fault. I repeated once more to myself.

I rushed to try and stop them, Emma tried to stop me, but she was a fraction of a second too late.

Tangled up in the midst of everything, I got hit. And hit pretty hard I must say.
