[Phoebe-Two Days Later]
"Kaitlyn, Kay baby wake up." I sat down on the bed tapping her arm a little. Usually she would wake me up but today she was knocked out. She was drooling on her teddy bear and she also had a teeny cat snore. See I told her to go to sleep early last night, but she wanted to stay up late watching Annie.
It just feels very odd waking her up for school and I'm not going with her. It still baffles me how I lost the only job I ever really wanted, it really does. But I'm trying not to make a big deal out of the big things. Although they may be big, I'm trying to not give a fuck anymore. Really I am.
I worry too much. And sometimes, I can't help it, but when I can, I'm trying not to care.
"Kaitlynnnnn." I sung her name. She groaned rolling over.
"You have to go to school, I'm sure Johnathan is going to be upset, you weren't there early. You know he's there very early waiting on you." I yawned.
She mumbled in her sleep turning over. "I don't want to goooo."
"Why not? I thought you loved school."
"I hate that teacha. I hate her."
"Don't say that. Hate is a strong word. Say dislike."
"I hate her!" She snapped, turning over and I jumped a little startled. So much for trying to talk to a half asleep kindergartner who's nearly 6 going on 16.
I chuckled looking at her leg which was hanging off of the bed. "You have to comb your hair and pick out an outfit. Come on, Kaitylyn. I'll make you something special for breakfast."
"I not goin'." She muttered, smacking her lips and I sighed giving up.
I stood up. "Okay fine. I'm telling your father."
"Tell." She said drifting back into sleep and I couldn't help but laugh.
"Okay, we both know your father isn't going to do anything but agree with you. But missing school is bad habit. I mean do you want to work at Popeye's Or shine people's shoes muffin? No. That's what I thought. A day makes a difference you know." I rambled.
"Do you hear me Kaitlyn? Kay?" I asked leaning over her only to hear her snoring again. Oh great.
I shook my head, fixing her covers."Okay, I guess you're staying home with me." I walked out of her room closing the door quietly. The dawn was awaiting me, and the slight dew was trickling down the bedroom windows.
I entered August's bedroom again, and he was standing there, rustling through his drawers. "Well hey. What are you doing up?" I slightly smiled.
