As soon as Johnny Lawrence called out 'lets begin' Aubrey 'AJ' Mills felt all of the wind rush out of her. She didn't know what it was or what caused it. It all just felt so surreal.
If she was being honest the moment itself was almost perfect, kinda. Her scar was really starting to hurt and the urge for revenge was growing stronger and stronger inside of her.
AJ swallowed loudly and prayed that the boys next to her couldn't hear how hard she was now breathing. She spared a glance at her boyfriend who was standing next to her with a confidence that seemed similar to the one he had back at Cobra Kai.
Just the sight of him was able to calm her down a little bit. Her eyes turned back to the two sensei's, who in typical karate rivalry fashion, were about to start yet another argument. But before that the boy on her other side spoke.
"Begin what exactly?" He said after raising his hand out of confusion.
"Begin a new era. Many of us used to be enemies." Daniel LaRusso started as he scanned the large dojo now filled with students from multiple sides, "But rivalries don't need to last forever."
AJ's eyes, like Daniels, turned to the person next to her. The boy she watched get his arm broken was standing there with as much confidence as her boyfriend was. AJ still felt guilty about that day and probably would for the rest of her life. As she looked at him she noticed he had exchanged glances with the boy on her other side.
"The All Valley Tournament is just a few months away." Daniel continued gaining AJ's interest back, "The stakes are higher than they've ever been. We know that Cobra Kai is going to use every dirty trick in the book."
Just the mention of her old dojo caused a slight pang to go through AJ's heart. As corrupt and horrible the dojo was now the former version of it brought happiness to her and it destroyed her knowing what was happening to it.
Her mind traveled back to none other than Tory Nichols, former best friend now turned enemy. And also the lovely girl who gave her the present that was permanently scarred on her face.
The scar felt red hot on AJ's skin as the rage and urge to take both Cobra Kai and the people in it down.
The feeling didn't last much longer when Johnny stepped in with one of his interesting lines of teaching.
"There is only way we're going to be able to beat them- by kicking their asses so hard, they shit themselves!" Daniel began and Johnny finished.
The students all gave the blond man a look of confusion at his statement.
"What?" AJ murmured her eyebrows screwed together as she stared at the two sensei's in front of her.
Johnny who had yet to notice the looks continued on, "We gotta take things to the next level. Gonna teach you an aggression stronger than anything Cobra Kai can throw at us," thats when the pacing started, "They strike first, we pre-strike."
"We're getting ahead of ourselves." Daniel stepped in like a worried mom. "We are going to respond to what they do."
"Eagles do not respond, they swoop down and take whatever they want." Johnny shot back aiming the sentence at his students, "That's what we're gonna do. Take back the valley."
Daniel gave him another look of annoyance, "Take it back in a measured and organized approach."
AJ looked around the dojo at everyones faces of concern and confusion. Her multi-colored eyes landed on Miguel Diaz and Samantha LaRusso staring towards the front with faces of pure concern for their respective parental figures.
"We bite first!" Johnny made a power move with his hand.
"Sounds familiar." Demetri Alexopoulos, muttered as he glanced at the pair next to him.
