First of all , let me just start with a HUGE thank you to everyone who has stuck with this book. I know that the wait was very long and I apologize. I really do appreciate every read, comment and vote that I get so for you guys to be taking the time to do that I really appreciate it.
Second of all, an explanation for the ending. I never anticipated having AJ and Eli to break up during any of these books but unfortunately I feel like it had to happen. When I first wrote Inseparable I was in my very first relationship with someone and like almost all writers I took some inspiration from my real life.
Unfortunately , the inspiration that I took was from our relationship which if I am being honest with you guys was not the best. We just didn't work well with each other. We had our own personal issues that affected a lot of our relationship and we ended up breaking up right before we both went off to college last summer.
There at college I met my current boyfriend who is the sweetest human being I have ever met and I love him so much. But I still had Inextricable to write. When the season came out I was fully prepared to write an epic story of both AJ and Eli, but I hated writing them together. All it did was remind me of my past that is still hard for me to think about.
Of course Eli is still one of my favorite characters , in fact he's one of my comfort characters and that will never change. But the Eli in this story is a reminder of my past just like their relationship.
AJ's internal struggle was based off what I went through during that summer and transitioning to college trying to find out who the hell I was, which thanks to some self love, an amazing roommate and of course my loving boyfriend, I found myself.
I knew that to make this story work and the third book work, there was no way I could have Eli and AJ stay together when I had zero inspiration to write about them because of the reminders that their relationship gave me.
Now what does that mean for the third book?
Well, there is going to be a new romance in town. I like to call it, two champions re-discover who they are and realize that they are worthy of love.
I can't share much about the next book because I don't want to give much away but as a fun little ending to all the heartbreak, here is the cover of the third book in my Cobra Kai series, titled SEPARABLE
