The sound of footsteps creeped up behind me, I quickly turned on my heels and saw Payton running towards me, I took in a deep breath and put my hand over my heart hoping it would calm down the fast beating. "Hey" Payton chirpped up at me with a grin on her face.
"Hello" I smiled back at her.
"Why out here all alone?" Payton pouted,
I shrugged and moved the hair that was dangling in front of my eyes "I wanted some time, alone" I said, peaking up at Payton through the corner of my eye.
She laughed "no seriously Beth, what's crawled up your ass?"
I chuckled at her statement "It's Harry"
Her eyes went from a light brown, to very dark, almost black. "He accused me of writing a stupid note"
Payton gulped and looked away avoiding eye contact, and me, knowing Payton better then anyone I could tell that something was on her mind aswell. "What's stuck up your ass?" I asked her back nudging her with my elbow. But she just shook her head "nothing, nothing.."
I stopped in my tracks and folded my arms "spill"
She looked up at me, forcing a smile "I can't"
I glared at her, my eyes piercing into hers "Payton, you can't keep a secret from me for more that 5 seconds and you know that..So spill before I find out myself"
She rolled her head back and looked up into the sky, as if she was talking to God and begging for help. I kept my glance at her, she turned to face me and sighed "I'm sorry"
Confusion flodded my emotions "what? What for?" I asked her.
She looked down at her thumbs which were dancing with each other "it was me"
I shook my head confused "what was you Payton?"
"the letter" she whispered, looking up at me.
