Jungkook drives down the empty highway, the air soothing every tense muscle in his body by the wind caressing his face of the beautiful cloudy night. And by Jimin's hand interlaced with his hand his lap.
They're driving back to Karma's mansion from visiting Woosung's mom, who was more than thrilled to see them again after three weeks. She baked them cookies and began to spoil Jimin with more stories of Jungkook and Woosung and their childish lovely years. Jungkook of course got so embarrassed by it but Jimin was enjoying every single detail.
He loves hearing how Jungkook was once upon a time before being in this life he has now, especially with Woosung.
Jungkook had a moment to stay in Woosung's room, cleaning it up a bit with new sheets and cleaning his dusty guitar. When Woosung's mom entered the room she nearly began to cry once again, feeling a sense of happiness upon seeing how fresh and.... Alive the room feels again. It filled them with this sense of acceptance that even though Woosung isn't alive, his memory is alive with them.
That was enough to give them a sense of peace.
Eventually they had to go back after a while and now they're here, in this drive back to Seoul.
However Jungkook ends up parking the car near the side of the empty highwaybeside the woods, turning the engine off. Jimin furrows his eyebrows and looks around to the site of trees before looking at Jungkook, "You alright-"
"I spoke to Namjoon the other day," Jungkook whispers, staring at the wheel intently, "He..... He admitted something to me, about you."
Jimin perks an eyebrow up, turning his full attention to him, "What is it?"
Jungkook licks his lips slowly for a moment and turns to look at him, "He.... He said he's still in love with you Jimin."
The impact those words had on Jimin was something he entirely was not ready for. It was a strong mixture of joy yet heartache with a mixture of confusion. It's almost as if Jungkook could read the war raging behind his eyes, seeing which emotion he's trying to pinpoint what to feel upon hearing that.
So Jimin only licks his lips, head high, "What do you want me to do with that information? There's nothing I can do-"
"Look, I need you to hear me out," Jungkook murmurs, turning his body and cups both of his cheeks, "You probably heard this from Karma or Taehyung, but this time it's from me and I'm being serious. You know about the situation with the agency, and there's only one way this ends," He says, staring to the way Jimin's lips pulls down to a frown, "When the time comes, you better run. No turning back, just run. Namjoon is willing to help us out of tihs, but..... Jimin if things don't go right, you need to go with him. Me and Karma are the ones in shit right now, you got dragged to it. This isn't your problem."
Jimin sinks in Jungkook's words, his heart pounding hard against his chest as he slowly raises a hand to cup over Jungkook's, "I am not leaving anyone behind-"
"Jimin, this is not up for debate," Jungkook says sternly, his eyes glaring into his, "You have your new identity. Promise me, swear to your life, that you will make it out. Promise me you will get your freedom."
The words that Jimin once craved to hear became the stab to his own chest, tightening his own throat the sentimentally filling his heart. It's not like he doesn't want his freedom, of course he does, but he already has it while being with them. They let him go, be more open with himself to explore and see the beauty of the world.
How can he just leave if things go rough after these obstacles they went through?
Especially while getting to know Taehyung - who emotionally depends on him.
