"So, this is it" KJ said as she pushed open the door to the practice room.

"Wow, its huge in here" Jake said. His low, raspy voice dragging.

KJ peered around the room, she had become so used to it she had forgotten how vast it actually was. Arched ceilings, benches that wrapped around the perimeter of the room, new and vintage guitars lining the  off white walls and a semi circular stage to the left, hooked up with the best equipment the school could find.

"Yeah, they definitely put a lot of money into the guitar program..." KJ said. Jake perked up at the infliction in her voice when she said "guitar".

"And they don't with the other programs?"

"Oh, no, I mean they do, its just..."

"Do I sense a bit of jealousy, KJ?" A playful grin spread across Jake's face, his eyes darting to the side to meet KJs glare.

"Yeah, right, cause Im always so jealous? My program is just fine, alright? It will be anyway...I mean, its just, what's so special about the guitar program that mine gets left in the dumpster?"

Jake chuckled, it was smooth, but bright.

"So you ARE jealous?! Hey, I offered to teach you how to play Kyrie. Don't be mad cause IM the national rock star, you couldve been one too."

KJ rolled her eyes, mostly at the fact that Jake used her real name and he knew how much that bugged her.

"Cmon, you know you love me... and you know Im right!"

"So what if you are, huh? Who says I cant still be one?"

Jake shrugged. "Im not the one that stopped you in the first place."

KJ tilted her head back and let out a sigh. She didnt want to go down this road again with Jake. But she couldnt help but admit that he was right. It wasnt him that stopped her and she couldnt help but feel a flutter inside her chest every time he teased her. She did love him. That was another thing that apparently hadnt changed.
