"Oh boy, its just great to have you
back, Jakey." KJ lowered her head and met Jakes gaze with sharp eyes.

"Why don't I show you the rest of the wing before the kids show up" KJ said trying to change the subject.  She led Jake out the door and down two sets of stairs.

"These are our offices, this ones mine, and this one will be yours" she gestured to two mid size rooms, one decorated in floral prints, music posters and peace signs. The other was bare, and ready for Jake to add his flare to.

"Make love not war, dude" Jake drawled, nudging KJs arm.

KJs strained expression cracked at Jakes impression.

"Alright Cheech, lets not act like youre not a hippie dippy too"

Jake smiled and tossed his hair back, his fingers running through his loose waves. He set his guitar in the doorway of his new office and leaned in toward KJ. A hint of joy still on his face, he looked at KJ and held eye contact. A stern, almost pained energy took over.

"Kyrie I.. you know I was just messing with you, right? You could  still totally be a-"

"Its fine Jake, Ill let you set up your office and come check on you in a bit. The kids should be here any minute now, well talk later, ok?" She feigned a smile and gently brushed her hand over Jakes shoulder.

"Kyrie cmon..."

"Later, Jake."

She turned and walked back up the stairs, the murmur of school kids growing loud as she ascended. KJ greeted the first wave of her students with a warm smile, hiding the flurry of emotion stirring inside.
