As Kyrie walked through the glass doors of The Violet, a local hot spot and personal favorite of her and the boys, she saw Josh sitting at the corner table next to the window. His favorite spot in the moody bar. He always said it was because in the daytime, it let in just enough sun, and at night you could see still see the starts shining down. He was always a poet, that one.

As Kyrie moved closer, Joshs toothy grin greeted her.

"Joshy!" she beamed.

He stood, eye level with KJ, he opened his arms and motioned for her to hug him.

"Cmon KJ I know youre dyin for a Josh hug"

"You know me too well, jug head" she replied as she wrapped her arms around his back.

She held onto him tight, the warm embrace, was that of a big brother protecting his little sister. As he held her, Josh felt her chest waver, a sniffle escaping her. He squeezed her, and pushed her hair behind her ear.

"Cmon love, tell me whats wrong. Here, sit down, Ill order our usuals"

They both slid into opposite sides of the booth and Josh gingerly motioned for the waitress.

"Uh, yes miss, Ill have a Salty Dog and shell have a whiskey with sweet tea, if you dont mind, please"

As the waitress walked away, Josh reached his hands across the table and cupped them around KJs. Her eyes were glossy, and her expression heavy.

"Is it too late?" KJ whispered.

"Too late for what?" Josh replied

KJ lifted her eyes to meet Joshs grounding gaze. His eyes, rich as an Arizona canyon, were steady, and knowing.

"You know..."

"Yeah, I do. You still love Jakey, dont you?"

KJ nodded, a breath she was holding released. And so did the rest of her tears.

Josh chuckled, and leaned back in his seat.

"Silly question really... you never stopped. I could hear it in your voice every time you asked about him, Kyrie, we all did. What are you so scared of? You love each other, you always have, you always will. You two... you are each other, yknow that?"

"Are we, still? You shouldve seen his face those weeks ago Joshy, he was broken, hes given up on me."

Josh tossed his head back, chuckling harder than before.

"Whats funny?" KJ looked at Josh, confused.

"You still dont get it, do you Kyrie?"

"Get what?"

"Nothing, and I mean nothing could make that boy stop loving you. Dont you remember the song you two wrote, all those years ago? The one we never released?'

"...yeah?"

"Look, Im not supposed to tell you this, but hes singing it tonight. For you."

"Theres no way, Jakey is too afraid to sing by himself hes gonna be a wreck"

"Not if youre there -"

"Here are your drinks, guys. Whiskey and sweet tea for the lady and a Salty Dog for you, sir"

"Thank you" you both said in unison.

"Josh, even if I am there, how am I supposed to fix this, now?"

A sneaky grin spread across Joshs face.

"Listen KJ, do you trust me?"

"Of course I do."

"Then come to the show tonight - I have... an idea."

"What kind of scheme do you have planned this time Josh?"

"Oh nothing, nothing. Just be at the venue an hour before the show starts, ill take care of the rest. Now drink up!"
