Y/N ran through the corridors of the enterprise as Uhura followed behind her. She entered the engine deck and raced to the warpcore, coming to a sliding stop.

Y/N froze when she saw Kirk leaning against the door; he was in bad shape.

"Scotty, can you open it?"

"No, lassie. The decontamination is not complete; you'd flood the whole compartment."

Y/N nodded softly, and she walked towards the door, Spock moving to stand beside Uhura and Scotty.

Y/N knelt in front of the door, holding back tears as Kirk looked up at her, "Hey, princess."

"Hey, Loverboy," she smiled down at him, "always have to save the day, don't ya."

"Just doing what you would have done," he breathed out, "I'm sorry for needing revenge and-"

"I know," she cut him off. "You saved every single life on this ship... I knew you could do better; you just needed a friendly dare," she smiled as the tears flowed.

"I did, didn't I?" Kirk chuckled, then coughed, "I lo-"

"Hey, stay with me- stay with me," Y/N urged.

Kirk sighed, then put his hand against the glass, Y/N doing the same, "you'll be okay," Kirk gave her a small smile, "your the toughest alien I know. Your dad agreed on that," he smiled up at her. "I love you."

"I love you too," she smiled as the tears fell, her cheeks red and lips trembling. "I love you so much, always have..."

"Once I saw you walk into that bar, I knew I was in trouble," Kirk smiled, "I knew you were the one."

Y/N whipped her tears away and looked down, "I'm sorry, it should have been me..."

"Don't say that," he looked into her eyes, "don't beat yourself over this... Please..."

"James?" Y/N mumbled softly when he started not to move.

"I love you..." He gasped out, taking his last breath.

Y/N sat there, forehead against the door as she cried. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry..."

Y/N stayed there crying as the love of her life lay in front of her, lifeless.

She stood after what felt like forever; she wiped her tears and took a deep breath, walking past the three.

Uhura reached out for her, "where are you going?"

"To finish this..." Y/N walked to the bridge, the three following her, "Sulu, search the ship for any signs of life, please."

"There's no way he could have-" Sulu looked up at the tear-stained face girl, "okay," he nodded and tapped buttons on the screen. "Whoa! He just jumped 30 meters!"

Spock stood from his chair, "can we beam him up?"

"There's too much damage, I have no incoming signal, but it may be possible to beam someone down, sir," Chekov nodded.

"I'll go," Y/N spun around to face them.

"No, I will go-"

"Spock," Y/N looked at him, "everyone is leaving, and everyone is dying..." She sighed, "let me take him down."

"But with the pheromone, he planted into you-" Chekov adds.

"I'll sever the nerve," she winked.

"Give him hell," Uhura grabbed her hand.

"I promise," she nodded and ran out to the transporter room. When she made it, she threw off her thruster suit, as Chekov gave the officer the coordinates.

She made her weapons were on and then ran to stand on the pad. The golden light then wrapped around her as she took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
