Chapter 13: The First Night

A/N - the dismantling process is something I'm not going to go over as to lazy.

Kalani's POV

*Troy and Violet seemed to have returned carrying a few animals Troy is carrying a bear and... three rabbits? I think? Violet is carrying a deer.*

Kalani "good hunt?"

Troy and Violet "Mediocre at best."

*Alex and I looked at the animals as I'm turned off of the idea of eating bear. It seems that Troy and Violet consider it a valuable source for food, tools, and cover on the body. While the rabbits seem more feasible to eat, same with the deer.*

Kalani "... Bear is edible?"

Violet "Yes it is but not easily. It can't be eaten raw. It is dangerous to eat raw. I once saw someone do so at one point that didn't end well for them."

Kalani "... Then how is that edible?"

Troy's Scroll "Cooking it fully through otherwise good luck Brim will help you but I won't do that."

Violet "I can't argue that either its foolish to eat raw animals that aren't domesticated, or with an issue with the human body. I'm sure even though I am a faunus that is not something easily done unless it's something normally done by that faunus species."

Kalani "So while not impossible it would be difficult is pretty much it right?"

Violet "Yep while I could eat bear raw it is a fifty fifty on me getting sick from that and for Troy hmm..."

Troy's Scroll "Well technically yes I could it would get me sick from eating almost any meat that would go for most if not all Goat faunus so while I can hunt its mostly for tools and fur and maybe helping others with food on meat so I can eat the things I can safely."

Kalani "Oh okay then so you two hunted the bear together right?"

Violet "Nope I was taking care of a grimm. Troy on the other hand was draining the rabbits or my prey but while I was trying to find reason to complain about it he mentioned grimm behind us and when I turned back around he was grappling the bear."

Alexander "Grappling? Like hand to hand combat?"

Violet "Yep the arms of the bear were broken before he broke its neck with a people after lifting and slamming it into the ground."

Troy's Scroll "It was a bit difficult. It is a heavier bear then most I've dealt with. It's a male I think but it's most likely about five to six hundred pounds. At least that should be roughly its weight."

Brim "Was that with or without the use of your Semblance?"

Troy's Scroll "With on the lift and throwing it to the ground I still need to train more to lift it without when it's alive and not you know draining of blood from a Stab I did to drain its blood."

Brim "Noted. Troy when we get back I will be making sure that your hand to hand combat is trained more."

*Troy nods and goes and raids some of the edible plants and starts to wash them off and eat them while sitting a bit away from the fire*

Kalani "He was struggling to lift the bear? Yet you're saying he needs to get a bit stronger doctor?"

*Brim lifts the bear up with an arm as he explains a bit of information to us*

Brim "To put simply why yes for a student Troy is unreasonably stronger than most hunters, Huntress and even more so than you students if you were to rate mine and Troy's raw strength I would come out on top nine times out of ten but compare it with technics, skills, tactics, and prime condition then it would be a fifty-fifty on the winner his speed and balance and adapting ability with or without weapons are on a whole new level comparatively raw strength and Semblance I will win hands down as while he is then stronger he his less durable like a glass Cannon. But without him using it he's much more calculating with little to no emotional signs of his plans being shown and his ability to adapt while I hate to admit has out classed mine but an absurd amount especially if it involves an unsteady environment then he will win every time."

Violet "Sure he's fast, one of the fastest people I've met but what do you mean if the environment is unsteady?"

Brim "Simply put his balance is unmatched. But that's mostly because he's a Goat faunus clearly so what more do you expect with that sort of balance?"

Violet "That he has probably trained it to the utter limits."

Brim "Exactly now let's cook the food and get some rest."

*Violet was helping Brim with dismantling the deer and bear as Troy seems to be making sure that they have enough herbs to make a stew with at least a platible flavor so me and Alex look between them and Alex decides to get more water as I swallow some of my fear and nerves and approach Troy to see if he needs help*

Kalani "Hey Troy do you need some help?"

*Without looking away he types something on his scroll at high speeds and then has its text to speech feature active*

Troy "Grab the book and make sure to look for herbs that help with scents, strong flavor, and easy to distinguish between each other."

Oh no he's worse then when I first met Violet at least she would look in the person's direction but he without looking up or anything like that he just gave directions without a hint of being able to continue a conversation. It seems his conversation abilities are nonexistent. He might have a chance... I hope so.

*as I did as he demanded a bit distraught from the effectiveness of an emotionless face, and words had been hard to talk about, forming an even more awkward situation where it felt as if it was a mistake to approach him without an idea of what to do immediately.*

You can do this Kalani you can try to get words that are at least not conversation killers from him!

Kalani "So how do you know how to cook?"

Troy's Scroll "Practice."

Ugh. A one word answer without a way to loop through easily.

Kalani "What about survival scenarios its almost as if you and Violet had the same experience?"

Troy's Scroll "Learned out of experience."

That went somewhere successful!

Kalani "What type of experience?"

Troy's Scroll "An experience of necessity. "

I was too early to celebrate.

A/N - yes I looked this info up and I will say this not my best work but couldn't get a good feel for this part unfortunately.
