Once we finished eating, a different waitress came out with our bill.
Her face looked solemnly plastic, with fake lashes, exaggerated lipstick, and don't get me started on amount of hairspray.
Her uniform was weirdly cut short and barely covered any of her thigh and it was very tight.
Her long pink nails had enough length to grasp onto the bill and drop it onto our table.
She twirled one of the pieces of her her. "That'll be $20.37."
"I got this one." I said, pulling my card out.
"As if." He said, getting his out too.
"Hey, you paid for the bowling, I pay for this."
While I was signing the bill, the waitress turned to Keefe. "Hey Boo."
"Uh, hey." Keefe responded, not looking at her.
"How old are ya'?"
"18." He said, taking his phone out and busying his attention.
"You're hot." She said, getting straight to the point.
I chocked on my water and Keefe looked at her. "Excuse me?"
"Wanna go out?" She said.
"No."
"Why not?"
"Cuz... uh... I... um..." He looked at me with a pleading look.
I knew what he was asking me. I sighed. Fine. I'll do this for him since I felt bad.
"He can't go out with you because he's taken, you imbecile." I spoke.
"And who is he taken by? You? I don't think he'd date a girl like you."
"Yes, I am dating her. And she's ten times better than you ever will be." Keefe snapped.
Once more, I chocked on my water, and decided to put it away for good. Apparently, Keefe was dating me now. What did I get myself into?
"I am?" I said, turning to Keefe. He gave me an urgent look, and I took the hint.
"I am." I corrected, changing my question into a statement. "Let's go... babe? We have st-stuff to do."
"Yep." Keefe said, getting up and following me out.
The second we were a safe distance away from that waitress's ears, I snapped.
"What the heck?!" I shouted.
Keefe scratched the back of his neck. "I'm so sorry. She just got really flirty and I panicked."
"Keefe. Don't tell me this hasn't happened in school. Because I know it has. For some particular reason, a reason that I will never understand, you are like a magnet to chicks in our school. It's honestly kind of creepy. Just. Like. I dunno. Act chill? Whenever this kind of stuff happens, don't randomly tell people you have a girlfriend and then leave. You simply ignore them."
"Foster. Calm down. It won't happen again, I swear."
"It better not."
"It won't."
"Hm." I simply hummed, and continued walking.
POV Change - Keefe
Wow... she really was oblivious, wasn't she? The whole fake girlfriend scenario had been for the sake of situation, but she still doesn't notice when I, weirdly and obsessively, stare at her. Nor does she realize it when I zone out while I talk to her because of how cute she talks. She's so freaking oblivious.
