On week.
I had one week left to study and then the first major Biology test would be right aroud the corner.
Right now, was on my bed with a 900 page textbook, reading through every single page, hoping that I could smush all of the information in my brain.
Around me were newspaper articles on the lastest biology-related findings. I've read through half of them, so I'm not doing terrible.
On my night stand, I had a 45-page comprehensive worksheet, which would help me prepare for the essay questions.
You get the gist.
That was when I heard a knock at the door.
I checked my phone. It was 10:30 in the night. Who could it possibly be?
I walked to the apartment door and looked through the tiny peephole. Sure enough, I saw a mesh of blonde hair and... red eyes?
I quickly opened the door. There stood Keefe, trying to hide the tears currently rolling down his face.
"Keefe? What--" Before I could finish my sentence, Keefe pulled me into a bone crushing hug. My arms immedietly flew to his neck, still confused as to what was happening.
"Hey, what happened?" I asked, pulling him even closer to me.
"I m-miss them so much, Sophie." And then he broke down into sobs.
I've never seen him cry this much. Right now, he just seemed so broken.
So, with the one free hand I had, I shut the door, and then embraced him with both of my arms.
"I'm s-sorry. I shouldn't have just barged in. But--"
"Oh, cut the crap. If you need someone, I'm the first person you go to. Weather I'm in Japan or in my apartment, you can always come to me. Even if it's late at night. Keefe... I've lost my parents too. But it was at such a young age, I didn't know them that well."
I pulled back a little but and put my hands on either sides of his jaw. "But, I still miss them everyday. And the pain you're going through right now must be unbearable, but it'll get better. Time heals everything darn thing."
He plastered on a smile. "I needed to hear that. Thanks, Foster."
He cleared his throat and pulled away from me. "I'll see you tommorow."
"Bye, Keefe."
And with that he closed the apartment door.
Wait a second.
I'm so stupid. I'm not leaving him alone when he's a broken mess. He's probably going to do something stupid. And he needs somebody there for him.
So I quickly snapped out of my thoughts, and opened the door, rushing down the hall. He had made it to the elevator by then.
"Wait!" I shouted.
"Wha... Foster?" He asked, rather confused as to why I chased him down the hall in nothing but a cropped shirt and baggy sweatpants. And of coarse, fuzzy socks. Never forget the fuzzy socks.
"I...um--uh... you wanna stay over tonight?"
"What?"
"Do you want to sleep at my place tonight?"
"Well--"
"Actually, I don't care about what you want. You're sleeping over no matter what. I'm not really giving you a choice."
And with that, I grabbed his arm and dragged him back to my apartment room.
Keefe POV
I'm actually gald that Foster forced me into sleeping over. I think I would've done something stupid or just gone home and punched a wall.
We re-entered her apartment, which always smelled liked vannila and a hint of clorox wipes. I don't know why, but the smell always satisfied me.
We walked into her bedroom, where she had a bunch of books and articles scattered around the place.
"What the..."
"We have midterms next week. Aren't you studying?" She asked as she cleaned and cleared off everything from the bed and nightstand.
"Don't need to. I have photographic memory."
"Me too." She said, as she pulled her hair up into a ponytail.
"Really? Then why do you study?" I asked, taking my hoodie off.
"Bevause I'm a nerd, duh."
I chuckled at her response and the collapsed onto the bed beside her.
She switched the lights off and turned the lamp light on.
The she layed down next to me.
One thing I learned form sleeping next to Foster before is that she's a big cuddler.
When she layed down next to me, she immediatly wrapped an arm around my waist and restered her head on my chest.
I wrapped my arm around her as she sighed into me. My other hand was drapped over her waist.
"So..." I began. "The will reading for my parents is this Friday."
Sophie POV :)
"So..." Keefe began, "The will reading for my parents is this Friday."
The hand that was drapped around my waist began to massage the exposed skin from the crop-top, letting sparks fly with every contact of the raw skin.
But it felt so relaxing after a long day, so much so that I sighed again in pleasure.
"I'll come with you." I offered, hoping, begging, and wishing, that he'd say yes.
"You don't have t-"
"Shhh. I'm coming and that's final." I interrupted him, looking up at him in the eyes.
"Thank you." And that was when I realized the close proximity of our faces. So much so that I could smell and feel his breath.
His breath smelled like mint and a bit of chocolate. My favorite. We were an inch away and his eyes widened in realization a couple seconds after mine did.
I wanted to close the distance so badly. Put my lips on his. But he didn't like me like that. It was obvious. And I didn't want to emberess myself.
So, with every ounce of willpower I could muster from every nerve in my body, I cleared my throat and moved back, adjusting myself on his chest again.
I could hear his heartbeat racing, just like mine was.
But unlike me, his was probably racing from releif that I didn't kiss him.
Ugh, I have to stop thinking like this. It's gross. So I closed my eyes and procceeded to forget about the last minute.
"Night, Foster."
"G'night."
Sorry for the slow updates! Thanks for bearing with me, guys. I'm officially on spring break so there will be lots of more updates!
