Ricky’s POV

Ya’ know that feeling in your stomach when it feels like you’ve swallowed a massive melon? No? I guess you haven’t been to Barbados. Well stepping off the plane and heading towards the cabs parked outside of the airport felt like that. I had this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach and I had no idea. Alex and I approached the cabs, packed all our stuff in it and headed off to my apartment.  The one thing that made up for the long cab ride was that we head the most boring ass cab driver ever which resulted in me and Alex cracking jokes ALL the way home.

We pulled up outside my apartment, unloaded the car and headed upstairs. Opening the door and throwing our stuff down I saw that I had a message on my phone. Alex had already headed straight to the kitchen. Typical. I clicked it to play the message.

“Rick glad to see the tour was a success we would like to meet you today at 4 at the office. See you then.”

It was my manager, see since I’ve been working with Demi I’ve put MY whole career on hold and have focused on Demi’s… Aren’t I a good friend!

“Was that Dave?” – Alex said as he walked back into from the kitchen.

“Yeah he wants to meet me at 4 I can guarantee it’ll be about doing a new record” – I explained to him.

“Okay well you do realise it’s already half 3” – I snapped my head at him.

“YOUR FUCKING KIDDING ME?! SHIT!!” – I grabbed my keys and ran out the apartment towards my car that was parked in my garage.

“Shit!! I’m gonna be late!!” – I got in, switched the engine on and pulled out as fast as I could. Driving as fast as I could towards the office, I was a few miles away, I checked the time on my phone (I had 10 minutes to get to the office) and noticed I had a message off Demi.

Demi: “Did you forget something?...”

Okay I’m going to make it but... what could I have forgot? …..

“FUCK!! I FORGOT TO RING HER!!” – I said to myself out loud whilst slamming my hand down onto the wheel as I turned onto the road that his office was situated on, I parked up and got out frantically running inside towards his receptionist.

“Hi Rosie, Dave’s expecting me” – I said slightly out of breath, she pressed on the intercom and called me upstairs.

“Up you go” – I thanked her and went over to the elevator and pressed for the top floor. The one thing I loved about his office was that the elevator opened out straight into his office. As the elevator opened I saw Dave sat on the phone so I just sat in the chair in front of him waiting for him to finish. He put the phone down and turned his attention to me.

“Good to see you again Rick I do realise that it must have been a rush getting over here as your flight not long landed, the tour was a success I hear?” – He started.

“Yeah was a great success!” – I replied with a casual smile.

“Okay let’s get down to why I asked you here, It’s pretty public knowledge that you haven’t released anything in a good 4-5 years because of working on other projects but do you think it’s time you put out a new record?” – I sat there not surprised he’d ask that, it’s true I felt like I’d been neglecting my fans for a while… Now I know how Lovatics feel when they wait ages for Demi’s music.

“Funny you should mention that Dave because I’ve been working on new music and I was thinking on putting out a new record. Ya’ know over the last few years I’ve been through a lot and I think it’s time to let that all out through my music and tell my fans what's really been going on” – I explained simply.

“Okay then, I’ll get in touch with some song-writers” – But as he picked the phone up I cut him off.

“No. No songwriters. I want this record to be just me. I wanna write it by myself... but with help from just one person” – I knew exactly who.

“Who?” – He asked raising an eyebrow.

“Demi.”
