Chapter 34 - Up In The Air

Demi's POV

"RICK WILL YOU COME DOWN OUTTA THAT TREE!! WHAT'RE YOU EIGHT?!?!" - I shouted up from off the patio. Fucking hell Rick you're acting like a little kid right now.

"NO NOT UNTIL YOUR DAD CALMS DOWN AND PUTS HIS SHOTGUN AWAY!!" - He yelled back as he dangled his legs off the branch. I just stood there looking up at him.

"You're a pain in my ass Richard!!" - He just let out a cheeky smile and continued to dangle his feet. God I can't stay mad at him he's too cute.

Ricky's POV

"Don't worry Rick it'll be okay!" - Demi said taking my hand in hers and squeezing it slightly. Easy for you to say my mom likes you!!

"Y-Yeah c-course" - I said adjusting my jacket nervously as she opened the door and walked inside.

"Mom! Dad!!" - Demi said walking further into the house, I felt my hand slip from her's slightly so I instantly gripped it tighter.

"Rick it's okay" - She said reassuring him with a smile as I dragged him into the living room where everyone was sat.

"Demi!!" - Maddie let out as she ran over and tackled Demi into a hug. Great now I'm exposed. I couldn't see Eddie anywhere. Dianna was sat on the couch with Oliver and Bailey but Eddie was no where! Where is he!? I was starting to fidget so I decided to go sit by Dianna.

"Hey Ricky" - She said greeting me with a smile and a warm hug.

"Hey" - I returned a smile at her as I sat down next to her and as soon as I did Oliver jumped on me. Swear to god this dog loves me more than Demi.

"Stealing my dog now Rick" - I looked up and saw Demi making her way over to us with Maddie.

"Where's dad?" - Demi asked her mom as she leaned into my side.

"He's been out to the shooting range he'll be back any minute" - Shooting range!?! He'll have that fucking shotgun with him!! I felt myself tense up at the sound of that.

"Rick?" - Dianna asked her voice filled with concern.

"U-u-er- y-yeah I'm good" - My voice was so weak causing everything I said to come out scattered.

"Rick don't be so scared of him he's not gonna hurt you" - Maddie said as Demi put her hand around my neck gently.

"Who's not gonna hurt you?" - I turned my head from Maddie's to see Eddie walk in with his shotgun cocked open in his hands. I think I just shit myself.

"Oh no one! Dad sit down I need to talk to you and mom" - Demi said gesturing to the couch, oh shit this was it. He sat down placing his gun next to him pointing the barrel at me. If I wasn't intimidated by the guy enough as it was he's now pointing a freaking gun at me!!

"Okay well this is pretty big news so.. Umm.. Mom.. Dad.. Maddie.. I'm pregnant"

"Demi are you serious?" - Dianna said sounding excited, Demi just nodded and a smile erupted onto both of their faces as Dianna got up and pulled Demi into hug. Before I knew it they'd pulled me up from the couch and into a hug.

"Maddie are you okay with this?" - Demi asked her softly.

"Of course!! As long as I can come over and see them!!" - She said a huge smile on her face as her sister pulled her into another hug.

"Dad?" - Demi asked quietly, interlocking her fingers through mine. Eddie just sat there with a cold expression on his face. Okay I know you don't like me but still come on dude!!
