Chapter 21 - I'll Be Your Nightingale

Demi's POV

"You excited to see your family Rick?" - I asked him as I kept my eyes on the road. We'd decided to drive down to Dallas again cause last time went so well. No that wasn't supposed to sound sarcastic.

"Rick?" - I said flicking my attention to him slightly. He's asleep!? "Oi! Shit head!!" - I said hitting him on the leg. Fuck I think that hurt me more than him! Why's he gotta have such muscly legs!

"What!?" - He said as he jerked awake.

"Oh sorry did I wake you" - I said bitterly as he adjusted in his seat.

"Sorry I'm just exhausted.. Dave's been working me to my breaking point lately what with promo and the tour coming up" - He explained propping himself up on the window.

"We'll tell him you're not happy" - He just shrugged.

"Rick you can't be a pushover when it comes to your management" - I told him sternly. "Look my management always send me to fuckin Brazil and I always tell them that I wanna go to Europe, Britain, Australia but do they listen? Do they fuck! But I tell them and their putting everything I've said into consideration. If you tell Dave trust me he'll do it." - I told him keeping my eyes on the road.

"I suppose you're right... By the way who's idea was it to let you drive.. Oh yeah mine.."

"Hey! I'm a good driv- Hey get outta the road you stupid student driver!!" - I yelled out the window as some little jumped up driver cut me off. "What they've got to learn!"

"Yeah you're an amazing driver dems.. flipping 3 people off in the space of a minute is incredible driving.. you should get an award..." - He said his voice covered in sarcasm, I turned to my right to see him lay back with his feet up on the dashboard, with his beanie pulled down over his face and his arms crossed across his chest. Okay his arms look fucking great in that t-shirt.

"Don't go back to sleep cause were nearly home babe" - I said as we turned into his road.

"The fact you say "were nearly home" makes me smile" - I turned to see him flashing his perfect smile at me and pulling his red beanie back onto his head, so a few tuffs off hair were sticking out the front. Whoa. Concentrate on the road Demi gosh!

As we pulled up outside his house, we got out he picked up his shirt and put it on. I just stood there completely transfixed by him. He looked fucking hot! He was stood there in his old converse, black skinnys, white v neck t-shirt, red and white flannel shirt and red beanie. Is it wrong I just wanna rip that t-shirt and flannel shirt off him right now and do stuff I've only imagined in my mind? As we headed inside he kept his arm slung around me as we went further into the house to see his family.

"Rick!!!!" - Kayla was the first to exclaim and run over to us, tackling him into a hug and knocking his beanie off exposing his fluffy hair. Aw.

"How you doing princess?" - He said with a smile as he picked her up and held her on his hip as she wrapped her arms around his neck so she wouldn't fall. Aw he'd make a great dad. What!? No Demi stop! You're 20! Don't think about that stuff... But he so would.. Demi Devonne Fawkes... I love the sound of that.. No! Demi stop!

"I'm great!! I missed you loads!!" - She said snapping me back into reality.

"Aw! Are you forgetting something?"

"Ummm... Happy birthday!!" - He let out a huge smile and kissed her on the cheek. Aw he's so good with kids..

"Thank you Kay! Come on!" - He said as we walked further into the living room where his mom and two brothers were sat. As we all sat down on the couches his mom started handing him presents over to him. His first one was a framed sketch of Jimmy Hendrix off Matt, a batman blanket off of Kayla & Jamie. Great now I'm not gonna be able to get him out of that, he's gonna be running around with it like a goddamn cape! His mom handed him a small box which when he opened it contained a ring.
