Stiles sat down at the cafeteria table filled with his friends, continuing on his conversation with Scott and Lydia. Being a ragtag group of high school seniors now, meant a whole other level of stress.
"Stiles, you're going crazy! Everyone knows that Derek is crazy about you!" Lydia states as she picks at her barely edible tray of cafeteria food.
"But he's been so distant! We've been dating for almost 6 months now, he's barely answering my texts, and when he does it's one word answers. I think he's losing interest in me." Stiles sighs and Scott frowns.
"Well he'd be absolutely crazy for that." Scott nods.
"It's likely because I won't have sex, all the way at least. I wanted to wait until our 6 month mark, and he used to pester me about it all the time. Recently, he hasn't even been interested in kissing me, let alone going any further than that. I'm just worried that if he's not getting it with me, he's getting it elsewhere." Stiles explains nearly in tears and Lydia rubs his arm comfortingly as Scott sighs deeply.
"I don't think Derek would do that, he's better than that." Erica shrugs, joining in the conversation.
"Yeah, I've known him forever. You're just overthinking things." Boyd adds in, which is surprising since he's normally pretty quiet.
"I hope so, but I can't help but think something else is going on." Stiles groans.
"What else is going on?" A voice asks cheerfully, the owner of which is walking up behind Stiles and stealing a place at the table beside him.
"Der! Oh nothing, we were just talking about the new season of that show!" Stiles plays off poorly and Scott quickly nods his head.
"Yeah, they just threw in a huge plot-twist and it's just weird!" He laughs nervously.
Derek looks at the two weirdly before laughing it off and continuing on with eating his lunch.
'Damn, that was close.' Stiles thinks to himself.
"So, want to hang out after lacrosse practice tonight? My dad won't be home until late." Stiles asks Derek with a suggestive smirk, which goes completely ignored by the other male as his face is buried in his phone.
"I can't babe, my mom wants me to go grocery shopping with her right after she gets home from work." Derek replies as he continues scrolling through Instagram and replying to the occasional text.
Stiles looks over to Scott and Lydia once more, witnessing their eye rolls and tightened grips on their utensils.
"Oh, okay then." Stiles sighs.
"Maybe tomorrow." Derek continues and Stiles frowns deeply at his friends.
"Yeah, for sure." Stiles nods, looking over at his boyfriend's phone.
"What's Jennifer texting you about?" He asks curiously.
Derek quickly clicks off his phone and places it face down on the table.
"Oh nothing! Just being friendly and making conversation." Derek deflects and Stiles feels his heart drop further in his chest.
"Oh, okay." Stiles mumbles quietly, sending a worried look to Scott.

After lacrosse practice, Stiles decided he wanted to do a little bit more investigating into Derek's story, just to see if he was being truthful to Stiles.
Stiles pulled out of the school's parking lot and made his way out to the reserve where Derek lives with his family. His mom usually gets home around 4:30 pm, the same time when Lacrosse practice lets out. Therefore, it's very odd that when Stiles drives by the house, Mrs.Hale's SUV is very much still in the driveway, but Derek's is gone.
That's odd, normally if they were going shopping they'd take his mom's SUV instead of Derek's Camaro. Stiles quickly turns his Jeep around and flies down the road to get back to the main road that'll take him straight to the Walmart down town.
He creeps into the parking lot and starts scanning the parking lot for the familiar black camero that his boyfriend drives, if he should even be calling him that anymore.
He finally spots the black car and pulls in behind a white pick-up truck that's parked a few cars down from it. He sits quietly and waits for Derek to emerge from the superstore.
It isn't long before he is, and it shocks Stiles to see that he's not alone; however, it's surely not his mother beside him.
Standing beside Derek is Jennifer Blake, captain of the cheerleaders with her hand swinging in his. Stiles forces back the tears that try to slip from his eyes and shakes his head.
Maybe they were just hanging out and being friendly? Maybe Stiles was just overthinking this whole thing? Maybe Derek didn't mean to lie about who he was going shopping with after school? Maybe Derek was just playing along with the laughing, smiles, and hand holding that Jennifer was instigating?
Hanging his head, Stiles waited for the Camaro to pull out and leave the parking lot before once again starting his Jeep, and heading home to cry.

For the next few days, Stiles keeps up the act with Derek that things are normal. He doesn't bring up him and Jennifer at Walmart the other night, nor does he question anything else about his relationship with Derek.
He, of course, tells Lydia and Scott what happened, and they are both now keeping an extra tight eye on Derek for any slip ups.
"Hey Stiles!" Derek smiles as he walks up to the shorter man.
"Hey Der." Stiles fakes a smile.
"Sorry I had to bail on you last night, Cora needed help with her English homework." Derek smiles and Stiles nods.
"That's okay, no big deal." Stiles replies and Derek wraps an arm around Stiles' shoulder.
"So how about we go back to my place tonight? No one is going to be home, and maybe we can finally seal the deal if you know what I mean?" Derek smirks with a wink and Stiles smiles with a blush but shakes his head.
"What about the night of prom? We'll be in our tuxes and you look incredibly sexy in your tux." Stiles smirks, but Derek sighs and rolls his eyes as he removes his arm from Stiles' shoulders.
"Seriously? Prom night? That's-"
"A whole week and a half away from now." Stiles frowns.
"Come on! Aren't you itching to lose your v-card by now?" Derek argues and Stiles crosses his arms over his chest.
"Excuse me for believing that relationships can be more than just sex!" Stiles scoffs and Derek rolls his eyes once more.
"You're being ridiculous!"
"Prom night, I'll even bring the condoms and lube. We can even sneak out and do it in the camero if you want." Stiles suggests and Derek turns away.
"Nevermind. I'll see you later." He says gruffly and Stiles is left there shocked at his boyfriend's reaction.
He watches as the other man walks down the hallway, speechless and confused.
"Hey man. What's wrong?" Scott asks walking up behind him.
"I'm not even sure anymore!" Stiles scoffs in disbelief.

The following day, Stiles is walking down the hallway of the high school to his next class when he passes a couple of cheerleaders talking by a group of lockers.
"Did Jenny tell you about her and Hale?" The blonde one gasps and Stiles slows his pace.
"What? No!" The brunette chuckles.
"Totally! They even went all the way last night!" The blonde replies with a smirk and the brunette giggles.
"Oh my god! Makes sense though, captain of the Basketball team and the captain of the cheer squad. It was destiny!" the brunette exclaims and they break into a fit of laughter.
That's the breaking point for Stiles, and he dives into the next bathroom he finds and breaks down into tears.
He feels himself about to have a panic attack, and is digging into his pocket for his phone to call Scott and Lydia.
He's sitting against the far wall when the two come bursting into the bathroom and rush to console him.
"What happened?" Lydia asks and Scott pulls out a bottle of water for Stiles to sip from.
"He slept with her. With Jennifer." Stiles gasps out between sips of water.
"WHAT?!" Scott and Lydia shout in shock and Stiles wipes the tears from his eyes.
"Last night apparently. A couple cheerleaders were talking about it. And of course it's right after Derek and I fought cause I wouldn't let him fuck me last night! I suggested we wait for prom night, to make it special. I guess he didn't want to wait." Stiles explains, breaking into tears by the end.
Lydia wraps her arm around Stiles, resting his head on her shoulder.
"You're going to be okay Stiles, I promise you that. He's a dick, and he needs to be knocked down a peg or two." Lydia sighs and Scott nods.
"I'm going to kick his ass if that make you feel better." Scott shrugs.
"No, that won't help anything and you'll get in trouble. He needs to be ended publicly, ruin his reputation." Stiles states with vengeance in his voice.
"What did you have in mind?" Scott asks.
"Well, prom is in a week or so. All the seniors will be there, as well as all the staff, and his parents are volunteering so they'll be there too." Stiles explains and the two are hanging on to his every word.
"And?"
"Every year they have karaoke, and since Lydia here is on the planning committee, you can get me up on stage with my song." Stiles smirks.
"Song? What song?" Scott asks confused.
"Well I've had a few choice words floating around my head for past week or so now, so I'm pretty sure I can turn those into some great lyrics." He grins and Scott chuckles, high diving his best friend.
"This is gonna be awesome!" He laughs to which Stiles and Lydia smirk and chuckle too.
"Time to teach that sorry son of a bitch a lesson!" Lydia grins evilly.

The night of prom, Derek picks Stiles up in his Camaro and they drive to the high school, ignoring the obvious hickies on Derek's neck that he didn't give him.
Of course, for the last week or so, Stiles has been working tirelessly on the lyrics for his performance tonight, all while keeping Derek in the dark that he actually knew everything and was about to end him in an hour or so.
The two walk into the well decorated gymnasium and Stiles almost feels bad ruining such a beautiful theme of 'Romance is in the Air'.
They find Scott, Isaac, Lydia, and the rest of the group sitting around one of the large circular tables, covered in rose petals and flickering fake tea-lights.
"Hey guys!" Stiles smile and Derek nods to everyone in greeting.
"Hey Stiles! Looking sexy tonight!" Isaac teases and Stiles chuckles.
"Not like it's any use." Stiles hears Derek mumble under his breath and it takes everything in him not to slap the other man.
Stiles drags Derek a few steps away from his friends before replying to his boyfriend's disrespect.
"I told you weeks ago that I'd very willingly give it up to you tonight, babe." Stiles mutters back quietly with a tight grip on Derek's arm.
Derek looks up at him in shock and confusion.
"Wait, what?"
"The night we fought? You turned and walked away from me. I told you I'd bring the condoms and everything, we could sneak off to the Camaro." Stiles reminds him, feigning innocence.
"Oh. W-well we should g-go do that. Right now." Derek stutters out in shock and amazement, slightly readjusting the front of his pants.
"Well I didn't bring them with me after that, but I've got them back at my house, we'll go there after." Stiles smirks, rolling his eyes once Derek nods and turns away to go back to the group of friends.
Time passes by rather quickly and before Stiles knows it, it's time for Karaoke.
"Alright! Ladies and gentlemen, we're opening up the floor for some karaoke! If anyone wants to come on up and sing us a song of their choosing, you are more than welcome to!" Lydia announces on stage while they pull out a screen for the lyrics.
Stiles watches patiently and anxiously as groups of girls and a few guys get up on stage and sing their own renditions of various songs. One guy even ends up crowd surfing the large group of people that has formed by the stage.
"Alright guys, is there anyone else who would like to sing a song? Last call!" Lydia smirks, sending Stiles a wink.
"I'm gonna go!" Stiles says and pulls his hand away from Derek's (whose other hand was being occupied by his phone) and makes his way towards the stage.
Derek looks up with a shocked face, as Stiles was simply not the type of person who would ever do karaoke.
"Okay! What will you be singing tonight Stiles?" Lydia asks and Stiles smiles brightly.
"Well, this one goes out to my dear boyfriend Derek. We've been dating for 6 months now and I've always thought he was an incredible guy. Mrs. and Mr. Hale, our lovely chaperones, have worked so hard for the past 18 years to raise him, not to mention his lovely sisters, into decent human beings who are honest, respectful, kind, caring members of society. And may I just say that a success rate of 2 out of 3 isn't too bad! This one's for you Derek." He smirks at his boyfriend's confused look and cues the band to begin playing.
