*Video is how I picture Stiles preforming. Cause let's face it, Tony Oller kinda looks like Dylan O'Brien. Not perfectly, but kinda!
*Also changed some lyrics to boy or guy, you know, to fit the situation.

"Can you believe that Prince passed away?! I mean first Michael Jackson, and now Prince? It's like God has a thing against good music!" Derek rambles on as he gets his books out of his locker.
"Yea. I was really surprised. But as Prince once said, 'Music is the ultimate power, love is simply the message and the truth will set you free." I finish and he just stares at me.
"What?" I ask and he just continues to stare at me.
"You just perfectly quoted Prince. My favourite quote of his too." He explains and I nod.
"I know. Believe it or not Derek I do pay attention to what you say!" I laugh.
"Well I guess it does 'sometimes snow in April." He laughs and I glare at him.
"Don't stare a quote war you can't finish." I smirk and he smirks back.
"You ain't seen nothing yet, and the best is yet to come!" Derek smirks.
"Derek, really? Switching to Michael Jackson now?" I ask and he nods.
"Just wait until I bust out the Marvin Gaye and Hathaway." He smirks.
"Come on, Scott's waiting for us in the library." I smile and we head off.

"So last night the weirdest thing happened." Derek says as we're eating lunch in the cafeteria.
"What happened?" I ask and he swallows his food.
"Someone delivered four dozen red roses to my house last night. Laura was grilling me all night but I have no idea who sent them. There was simply a tag with a Frank Sinatra quote and saying some day they'll come around to pick me up for a date, in a Cadillac, they just didn't know when yet." Derek explains and it takes everything in me not to blurt out that it was me!
I should probably explain, I'm in love with my best friend. I've been doing everything to get his attention but he just isn't picking up on my hints. I'm so desperately in love with him, but it's pointless. He would never like me like that.
"What'd the quote say?" I ask and he pulls out a little piece of paper.
"It says, 'A simple I love you means more than money'." He reads and I nod.
My family has never been rich, but I want to give him the world on a platter.
"You know, that's my favourite quote by Sinatra." I smile and he nods.
"Mine too." He smiles and continues to eat.
"Maybe they wanna bring glamour back!" I smile and he chuckles.
I sigh as we finish our lunch. I'll tell him eventually.

"Has anyone ever told you that you belong in an old time movie from the 40's, 50's, or 60's?" Laura asks Derek as we're watching Charlie Chaplin.
"What do you mean?" Derek asks.
"You're just so classy Der. You sometimes make me feel like I was born in the 50's." I laugh and he frowns at me.
"Well it's not my fault. This world has gone plastic! I just like the older stuff before it got shitty."
"They don't make 'em like you anymore." I smirk.
"You really are one classy son of a bitch." Laura mumbles.
"Did you just call mom a bitch?" Derek asks raising an eyebrow.
"No! That's not what I meant!" Laura protests.
"Ohhhhh! I'm telling her!" Derek smirks running to the kitchen.
"Yep. So classic." I smirk and she winks at me.
"Hang in there. He'll come one of these days. He's getting there. He just needs to piece everything together." Laura smiles and pats my shoulder before leaving.

"Hey Mitchel!" I smile standing next to his locker.
"Hey Stiles. How's the pining going?" He asks and I glare at him.
"I hate you. Anyway, I was wondering if you would help me write a song that we could perform at the dance. It's sort of my last attempt to get Derek. After that there's not really anything else I can do." I explain and he nods.
"You could always just, I don't know, tell him?!" He suggests and I shake my head.
"Nope! Not an option! So are you in or not?" I ask and he nods.
"Sure. I'd love to help. After school at my place. We can start writing and getting the music going." He smiles and we part ways after I give him a 'bro hug'.

"So are you going to the dance on Friday?" Derek asks as we walk to math.
"Yea, but I'm gonna go stag."
"Nice. Gina asked me if I wanted to go with her."
"Oh, fun. The person I want to go with already has a date." I sigh and he nods.
"Wanna carpool?"
"Nah, I have to pick up the new car that night before it starts." I explain and he nods.
"Ok, well it should be a lot more fun now that I know you're going." Derek smiles at me and I smile back.
"Yea. Fun." I mumble.

"Do you think it's good?" I ask Scott and he's in shock.
"Good? Stiles, that song is amazing! You and Mitchel are amazing singing together!" Scott gasps and I start to chuckle.
"Good, cause we're preforming at the dance. This is all sort of a plan to get Derek to realize that I like him." I explain and he looks shocked.
"Wow. That's actually really sweet. He's gonna love it!" Scott smiles and I take a deep breath.
The dance is tomorrow and I'm so nervous!

After school I make my way to the car dealership to pick up my new car. My dream car. I put my moms blue jeep in storage and got a new Cadillac. It's pretty sleek. I make my way home quickly and get ready. I shower and put on my tux, fixing my hair with some gel and spraying on some Axe. I sigh before heading out to my car and heading over to the school.
I walk inside and spot Derek and Gina over by the snack table.
"Hey!" I smile and he smiles back.
"Hey. You look good! Who are you all dolled up for?" He asks and I shrug.
"No one really. Picked up my car earlier. Went home and got ready in less than an hour. Not a big deal." I sigh and Gina clings herself to Derek's arm.
"Ohhhhh! Stiles! Who are you all prettied up for? Who's the lucky girl?" She asks and I chuckle.
"Guy actually. I thought everyone already knew that I was gay." I explain and she looks confused.
"I thought Derek said you were going with Stag?" She asks and I have to hold myself back from rolling my eyes.
"Oh honey! No! That's just a phrase that means you're going alone." I explain and she ohhhh's and nods her head.
'What a bimbo!' I whisper to myself.

It's been about three hours into the dance and now it's time for Mitchel and I to preform. I feel like my hearts going to pound out of my chest!
"I'll be back in a few." I yell to Derek and he looks at me.
"Where are you going?" He asks and I sigh but turn and walk away.
I make my way backstage and find Mitchel who hands me a mic.
"Ready Stiles?" Mitchel asks.
"As ready as I'll ever be!" I sigh.
"Ladies and gentlemen! Tonight we bring you a special performance by two of your very own peers! Mitchel and Stiles! Give them a round of applause!" Someone announces and we walk into stage. I look out and spot Derek in he crowd. I send him a wink and he looks very confused.
"This one goes out to someone very special to me. I needed a way to tell you how I feel and this seemed like a great idea. If you've figured out who you are, great! Please don't kill me. If not, than I'll just keep waiting until you do." I sigh and everyone awwww's.
I give the band the thumbs up and they start to play.
