Omfg it's been so long

For my baby LixiesEgg (and no it's not that chapter yet)

-Mad (but sad) Chan and Sad Lix but actually they're both just very very sad and sick of life and need hugs and a vacation that lasts forever because they are so in love I think it's lowkey toxic

"You're distracted."

Felix hummed, his father's words travelling through one ear and exiting through the other.

He's been reading the same sentence over and over again, his damned brain incapable of processing the words in front of him and Iseul's muttering wasn't helping either.

"Felix."

He hummed again.

"Felix," Iseul repeated, sterner than before. "Listen to me."

Sighing, the blonde weakly slammed the file in his hands against the wood of his desk, peering at the older in disdain. "Yes, father?" He replied with too much sass.

Iseul ignored his son's (rare) disrespect and instead pulled a chair closer to the latter, crossing his legs and arms with a raised brow.

"What?" Felix questioned after a few seconds passed under Iseul's belittling glare, eyes wide and unblinking with confusion.

"You're distracted, Felix," he reiterated. "This isn't like you."

"What do you mean? I'm perfectly normal," the blonde stuttered out, turning away from father to look distracted by whatever was in front of him. He cleared his throat. "Totally fine."

"Right. Now, do you want to tell me what has you acting like a fool?"

Felix groaned, offended and annoyed that his father was quite frankly, very accurate.

"I miss Chris."

"Point proven- you are distracted."

The younger looked back at his father, eyes steeling over. " What do you mean distracted?"

Iseul hummed lowly, collecting his thoughts and ordering his words. He didn't wish to anger Felix- simply put him back on track.

"When I asked you to get married, it was for your betterment- for you to have the support I can't give you. But, I did not expect you to prioritise the boy over your responsibilities." Iseul silenced, waiting for his son to keep up with him. "You can't have a weakness- not in this world. Never in this life."

It took a while for the blonde to respond.

"You're right. He makes me weak," Felix uttered, paper crumpling between his fingers. "B-"

"Exactly." Iseul stood, cutting the younger off midsentence as he fixed his blazer before combing through the blonde's hair fondly. But Felix knew how to read between the lines. "Your weakness will be your downfall, my boy. Don't let love distract you- take it from your old man. It's not made for the life you've chosen."

With a firm squeeze to the back of his neck, the older turned his back to him, heading to the door to make his way out, only to find Chan leaning against the wall, eyes glued to the floor.

Iseul cleared his throat and still, the brunette didn't even twitch. So with a pat on the shoulder he walked passed, steady footsteps dulling as he showed himself out.
