Sunwoo called Y/N the next morning, before she had even gotten out of bed.

«Is everything okay?»

«Yes, everything is fine, I just wanted to wanted to warn you that pictures of you and Seonghwa has started surfacing.»

«Really? Already?»

«Nothing bad, but holding hands at that restaurant the other day, and looking very friendly last night down town.»

«Oh.»

«We're assigning you a body guard.»

«What?!»

«Whenever you're outside someone will be with you. They will also be able to drive you wherever you need to go, so you should be safe at all times.»

«Is that really necessary?»

«Yes. You stand out in a crowd around here, Y/N, not being asian, so it'll have to be this way.» Sunwoo didn't tell Y/N that it was Seonghwa who had insisted once he heard about the pictures. He knew, like everyone in KQ, just how crazy things could get. «And we were talking about hurrying up when you move together. Seonghwa says he showed you the apartment?»

«Yeah.»

«Did you like it? Could you live there?»

«Yeah, sure, it was great. Big. And so smart that it is close to the others so Seonghwa won't miss out on things with them.»

«Exactly. Well, great.»

«And one does grow tired of living in a hotel.»

«Yes, I can imagine. I hear Damon loves you.»

«Oh, Damon! He's a gem.»

«He truly is.»

«Thank you for introducing me to him, Sunwoo.»

«You're welcome.»

Y/N had been in Korea for a month when she left to go back home to Europe. She needed to empty her apartment, no need to keep it while she was living in Korea the next year. Also there were paperwork to be done so that she would be able to get married to Seonghwa.

«Text me to know how the trip is going, okay? No matter the time of the day.» He was taking a break from rehearsal to say goodbye to her.

«Yeah, if you promise to keep your phone muted when you're sleeping.»

«I make no such promises.»

«Then neither do I.»

«Fine!» He sighed, smiled at her. «I'll miss you, Y/N.»

«Ditto,» she said, not putting too much into her words. It looked like it hurt him, but she chose not to think about that. This was a job. «I'll see you soon.»

He gave her a hug, and she kissed his cheek before leaving the headquarters. Why did it make him so sad, watching her leave? It's not like this was real.

He got a text when he was having dinner with the guys that evening.

«Is that Y/N?» Yunho asked.

«Yeah, she's arrived at where she changes flights.»

«Ask her if she had champagne on the plane,» Jongho said.

«No, I won't ask her that,» Seonghwa snorted.

«Fine,» Jongho said and texted her himself. They all had her number now, obviously. As Seonghwa and Y/N had moved into the apartment down the corridor the entire group had spent a lot of time with her. In the beginning she was a little hesitant to tag along when Seonghwa went to the dorms, but eventually it became natural for her too. Now they all felt they were getting to know her. She was part of the family. «Y/N says no, she went for red wine.»

«I knew she would,» Seonghwa said under his breath.

«Oh really?» Yunho said.

«Yeah, haven't you noticed how they always have a glass of red wine when we come over at night?» Woo exposed them.

«We do not!» Seonghwa heavily protested. «Just... sometimes.»

It was their thing, having a small glass of red wine a few evenings a week, to just sit and talk. Y/N was careful not to crowd him when he was in the apartment, but when he poured her that glass, she always came and joined him. Now there would be no wine for a few weeks.

«She sat with someone who kept snoring the entire flight,» Jongho continued. It made Seonghwa feel weird that Jongho felt more comfortable texting her than he did himself.

«Poor thing,» the guys laughed, nobody noticing Seonghwas face.

He missed her. He really did. The strange friendship of theirs was becoming important to him. He enjoyed having her around. Going back to their apartment always felt comforting, knowing she was there, in the bedroom across the hall. Now he would be alone. He seriously considered staying in his old room on the dorm while she was gone, but that would be pathetic.

He had written and rewritten the text message too many times, and when he finally sat on his bed, he deleted everything and just wrote what was in his heart. He pressed send, knowing he might regret it in the morning. He turned the lights off and somehow managed to go to sleep.

«I hope you arrived safely. This place feels so empty now.»
