Farmer waited a beat for Brynn to answer her. When no sound other than the shower came, Farmer tested the doorknob. "Brynn I'm coming in, okay." Farmer opened the door slowly and poked her head around, quickly looking away when she saw Brynn lying on the floor, naked. "Brynn, are you conscious?" Of course, she isn't, dummy. "I don't know if you can maybe hear me in some way but I have to come in and help you. I promise not to look too much." Farmer stepped into the bathroom, keeping her back turned to Brynn and grabbed the towel draped over the sink. "I'm gonna cover you up." She knew Brynn was out to lunch, but it made her feel better to talk to Brynn and alert her of her movements. Farmer unraveled the large towel then slowly moved backward toward Brynn. She knelt down and quickly covered up her body, and that's when she finally looked at Brynn. She checked her breathing, then examined her head for any bumps or cuts. "Hopefully you just knocked yourself out." Farmer quickly stood up and shut the shower off, then she scooped the tiny body up into her arms and carried her to the living room. She laid her down on the couch and covered her up with the heavy blanket draped along the back of the couch. She couldn't help it; she sat down beside Brynn and stroked her hair.

Lost in her thoughts, she heard a faint mooing outside. "Shit, my moo cows." She scrunched her eyes shut, shaking her head at her blunder. "I mean, my cows." She glanced down at Brynn before she stood up and said, "You should be okay here for a while." Farmer wrote a note to Brynn just in case and left it on the coffee table where hopefully she'd see it if she woke up.

An hour later, Farmer was just finishing up milking the last of her cows when a flash of pink caught her attention. She immediately straightened up from her hunched position and stared at Brynn who was standing just inside the small side door of the barn. Her eyes swept up and down the pink suit and grinned at the rolled-up pant legs, then her grin deepened into a smile when she saw Brynn had borrowed a pair of her work boots.

Brynn tucked a wet strand of hair behind her ear—and indication she showered once she came to—and shyly smiled at Farmer. "I have so many things to say, but all I can say is thank you, again." She started to shuffle closer and as she did, Farmer moved at the same time and met her halfway. Brynn looked up at Farmer and said, "I'm a little embarrassed."

Farmer wanted to badly touch her, but she kept herself in check. "Nothing to be embarrassed about, everyone falls down. Are you okay? I mean, does your head hurt or anything else hurt?"

Brynn shook her head. "Mostly my pride." She glanced down at her outfit. "Thanks for the cute clothes. I never would have guessed that you wear pink."

Farmer's cheeks burned hot; she covered her face with a hand. "Oh, geeze, now I'm the one who's embarrassed." She braved a peek through her fingers at Brynn who was chuckling at her. "My mom bought me those. I've never, ever worn them in my life. Ever."

"Never, ever, hmm," Brynn teased then poked Farmer in the ribs. Farmer jumped out of surprise. Brynn startled and pulled back. "I'm sorry, I was only playing around. Did I hurt you?"

Farmer felt like a fool. She shook her head, more at herself, and said, "Ignore me. I've been a recluse for many years. Touch is rare in my life." She rolled her eyes then gestured with a thumb over her shoulder. "Except for the odd nudge or shove from one of them."

Brynn looked past Farmer and at the cows. "Your moo cows."

Farmer smiled as she drew in a big breath, cheeks rosy, eyes glassy, and said, "Yes, my moo cows." Clearing her throat, she planted her feet back on solid ground. "I know you said you were feeling okay, but if you want, I would have no problems taking you into town to have a doctor check you out." Farmer watched an array of emotions flash through Brynn's eyes just then. She sensed fear, hopelessness, and optimism. She was surprised when Brynn agreed to go see a doctor. "I have another half hour here and then I can take you." She rubbed Brynn's upper arm and looked her square in the eye. Brynn appeared lost. "Brynn, are you with me?" She squeezed her arm gently.
