Forever

I get into stance as the five whatever's stare at me and I narrow my eyes.

"Pretty sad you need these things to fight your own battle!" I shout after the guy and he looks over at me.

"Oh I don't, I just don't want to be the one that lands the final blow. You might not be able to die Skylar, that doesn't mean you can't be poisoned near it."

Poison?

I gasp as I see the tips of their knives covered in some black something or rather and I freeze.

"You're making the wrong decision! They will never free your family!" I shout but he's gone.

"Guess we're doing this the hard way." I say as the first one lunges.

I block blow after blow, ducking and jumping all around. A knife swings at me and I dodge it barely, and kick the knife out of his hand. I hear someone behind me and I duck grunt as the knife stabs into the guy in front of me. I roll out of the way and kick up then grab my gun and shoot three down. One grabs me from behind and I duck back behind as the knife flies at me. I kick up and he soars backwards. I cry out as the knife stabs into my thigh. I instantly feel the poison start to seep through and I spin grabbing his knife and stabbing him in the chest. He falls dead and I yank the knife out of his body and throw it at the last guy and watch him fall dead. My leg starts to freeze up and I growl forcing myself to not fall. I force myself to stand up and I run out of my house and curse seeing nothing anywhere.

I go back inside and gasp seeing those things just gone. I huff sitting down on my couch and rubbing my face.

How'd I let this happen?

I leave her house with the hard drive unable to look back. I pull up to the building and walk inside.

"Where's the girl?"

"She wouldn't cooperate, but this is just as good." I say holding up the drive.

"What is that?"

"It's all the information on this girl, everything researched and looked up." I say

"I told you to get the girl, we need her blood! Not this useless stuff!" He shouts and I clench my fists.

"Release my family."

"They will be, when you bring me the girl." He says and I clench my jaw.

"That wasn't the deal-

"Bring me the girl or they drop dead. Now!"

I glare but turn around anyways.

"Leave the drive." I drop it to the ground then walk out of the building.

I breathe heavily as my leg loses all feeling. Sweat coats my forehead and chest. I feel the poison crawling through my body and it hurts like hell.

My vision starts swimming in and out of focus and I close my eyes trying to be rid of it. It was one stab, one damn stab that will torture me for the rest of eternity.

My head rolls back as more sweat drips down me and I yank off my shirt staying in a tank top, trying to get rid of the heat. I cry out as it starts to burn me inside out and I cough.

I hear something open and shut as I shake and cough.

"Skylar?" My eyes fly open and I force my vision to freeze on him. I force myself to stand up and I go to lunge at him.

"Stop it, the more you move the quicker the poison spreads." He says as I drop to my knees shaking.

"You- this is on you." I spit then feel his hands on me.

"Let's get you out of here."

"Don't touch me." I hiss slapping at him.

"You don't have a choice. You can't fight me." He says and I shake as he lifts me up into his arms and my head falls onto his shoulder.

"You're taking me to them. Aren't you?" But I get no answer.

The poison continues spreading through me and God how I wish it would just kill me by now. But it won't, it can't. I can't die, no I just suffer.
