My eyes blink open and I jump up seeing Ryan.

"Whoah, you're still a little dazed, sit back down." He says coming over to me but I shove him away.

"I'd be fine if you'd stop draining me!" I shout sitting back down on the bed.

"I didn't have a choice." He says and I scoff.

"Where's Jason, if you hurt him I swear to god I will kill you." I say clenching my fists.

"He's in a room that's locked from the outside in. He cannot escape and you cannot get in without the code."

"What is this, a jail?"

"It is what you make of it." He says starting to pace.

"Why am I still in here? Don't you all have to experiment on me?"

"You're blood has already been taken. We are testing it now."

"Why the hell am I still here then?"

"You have one final test to take, then maybe you'll be freed."

"What are you talking about?" I ask crossing my arms and forcing myself to stand up even through the dizziness.

"You're combat and skill must be seen and used, you will not be freed until you pass the final test."

"And Jason?"

"You get one hour with him tonight, then he'll be killed."

"No. I said to not touch him and I mean it!" I shout and he hushes me pushing me back against the wall.

"What are you-

"Listen to me Skylar. After seeing you last night, I learned that I was wrong for siding with these people-

"Yet you still brought me in."

"I didn't have a choice."

"You always have a choice."

"And I know that now, listen I need you to trust me."

"Trust you? Ha." I scoff and he sighs

"I will get Jason out of here, before he is to die. We will come back for you-

"No, I don't trust you at all."

"And there is no reason you should, but I will get him out of here. They may have your blood Skylar, but you can fight your way out." He says and I look up at him.

"You get Jason out of here." I say and he nods

"I owe you that much." He says looking down at me.

"Why are you doing this? Why are you just now deciding, that you chose the wrong path?" I ask and he gently grabs my chin.

"You can't stop loving your first love." He whispers and I turn my head away

"But you can betray them." I whisper a tear sliding down my cheek.

"Please, find it in your heart to forgive me." He says pulling my face back to look at him.

"I can't just forgive you Ryan." I say gently pushing him away from me.

The door opens and he instantly moves away from me and I cross my arms as the old guy walks in.

"Ryan, take her to him." He says and Ryan nods grabbing my arm roughly and yanking me out of the room.

"Jason!" I shout banging on the plastic window when I see him sitting on the bed. He looks up and runs over to the door banging back at me.

"You have one hour." Ryan says then the door unlocks and I run in. The door slams shut behind me and Ryan nods then walks away and I spin around and fall against Jason.

"Skylar." He breathes out holding me tight against him.

"They have my blood, they're already testing it to make more like me." I say and he hushes me

"You have to find a way out of here Jason, as soon as our hour together is up, they're going to kill you." I say and he shakes his head.

"I'm not going anywhere without you-

"You have to, my fight isn't done here. Yours is." I say and he shakes his head again pulling me back to him.

"It's not done as long as I'm still breathing."

"And if you don't leave, that time will come very soon. They are going to kill you, I need you out of here. I can't fight them knowing you could be killed in an instant. Please, I need you to find a way out and go." I say meeting his eyes.

"That's not going to happen."

"You don't have a choice, Ryan is getting you out of here."

"I don't trust that bastard one-

"Me neither, but he's your best shot." I say

"I'm not leaving without you!"

"Why not? You're going to die! Why the hell are you putting your life on the line to stay with someone like me, who can't die, who won't age! It's never ending for me Jason! You have a chance to be free, meet your soul mate, have a family, and die old and happy. Why throw that away to stay here and fight a battle that's not even yours to fight?" I ask and he meets my eyes.

"Because, I am in love with you Skylar."
