I blink open my eyes and look around trying to figure out what startled me. I catch sight of a figure standing outside of the window, looking over at something and I freeze. I slowly stand up but settle as the moonlight catches his hair. I walk to the front door and gently push it open then walk outside, and over to him slowly and quietly. I place my hand on his back and he jumps but quickly settles and looks over at me.

"You ok?" I ask gently and he nods.

"Couldn't sleep. Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." He says and I shake my head.

"You didn't." I lean against the window beside him and smile at the beautiful view of the moon as it glistens over the small pond. I look up at the sky and smile seeing the stars shine bright and strong.

"You always find the most beautiful views." I say the fresh night air blowing my hair gently around my face.

"Guess it's my special power." He says with a weak laugh and I sigh.

"I might not have known you for a log time, but you're one hell of a bad liar. What's wrong?" I ask and he shakes his head continuing to look out over the pond.

"Nothing."

"Oh come on, what's wrong?"

"I don't want to talk about it. It's just a personal thing nothing big." He says and I sigh but nod.

"Well, we're out here. Whatcha wanna talk about?" I ask looking at him and he shrugs.

"Ook. How about the first day we met? The day I totally kicked your ass."

"You wish, we've gone over this Skylar. Your definition of kick ass and mine are totally different."

"I still did." I say and he laughs rubbing his face.

"Sure." He responds just like he responded before and i half smile comes to my face.

Silence passes and its just nice and calming. I continue to look out at the pond and it's truly beautiful. The night hides so many beautiful things.

"Do you remember when I spared you, how you asked me why. And I said, maybe someday I'll tell you?"

"Yeah, very clearly matter a fact." I say and he smirks then looks back out at the pond.

"In all honesty. I didn't know why, I didn't know why I chose to spare you over saving my mom and sister from dying." He says and I look over at him.

"I still haven't figured out why I did." He says and I tense.

"But I'm beyond glad I did." He says looking down at me.

"Well, when you have your reason, I'll be here waiting. Because I'm beyond glad you did too." I say then smile and walk back inside.

*****

Everything I was saying was true aside from one part.

"I've found my reason, I know it." I say as the door shuts behind her. I lean my head back against the window and run my fingers through my hair taking a deep breath.
