After looking around for her for like hours I finally find her sitting in the middle of a field staring out to the middle of nowhere.

"Skylar?" I ask and she tenses but doesn't move. I walk over to her and sit down beside her.

"Is your arm ok?" She asks

"Yes, it's fine." She nods staying silent and I catch sight of the tears falling down her face. I gently grab her chin and then her face so she's looking at me.

"Why are you crying?" I ask and she shakes her head moving away from my touch.

"No reason." She says and I sigh knowing I gotta ask her.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I ask and she laughs rubbing the tears away.

"Because I didn't want to be looked at the way you looked at me, when, yeah." She says

"What way did I look at you?"

"In fear, anger. You even looked at me like I was a monster."

"Well, you're people really skills are failing you then." I say and she looks over at me mad.

"Sorry, point is, that's not how I looked at you."

"You might not think so Jason, but I saw right through you. You looked at me the same way my parents did when they found out about me. They already had to live with a daughter who wasn't gonna age anymore and couldn't die, then this. A daughter who has powers, who looks like some creature form the underworld when she's transformed." She says with a fake laugh.

"You didn't look like a creature, you looked like you." I say and she lets out another fake laugh.

"I'm serious. You wanna know how I looked at you? Cause it wasn't like you were a monster, and I didn't look at you in fear. I looked at you in shock and admiration."

"Admiration? Why? I'm a monster, that's what everyone else thinks."

"Again, I'm not everyone else. Take my word Skylar, I wasn't looking at you in disgust and fear. It was much more than that." I say grabbing her chin gently and making her look back over at me. I wipe my thumb over her cheek gently, getting rid of the tears. She looks up at me and I smile as she tries to hide back a smile.

"You can't hide a smile from me." I say and she laughs rubbing more tears away.

"Come here." I say and she moves closer to me. I put my arm around her shoulder as she puts her head on my shoulder and I rub her.

"You ok now?" I ask and she nods

"Good." I say continuing to hold her against me and looking up at the beautiful star filled sky. I turn my head and kiss her forehead and she moves tighter against my side.

"This time you're the one who found the beautiful and peaceful place."

"I guess you're right." She says and I nod as we continue to just sit there.

We sit outside for hours and I scream as water starts pouring down on us and we jump up. I burst out laughing as he pulls me along behind him back towards the house. I gasp as ten motorcycles fly up the driveway and I yank Jason down behind a big rock. We watch Isaac step outside with his arms crossed. I look over at Jason but he doesn't look at me as he watches Isaac. I turn my attention back over there and I watch William step out of the house. Isaac doesn't move to stop him staying frozen in place as William walks over to the motorcycles.

"What's going on?" I ask and watch Isaac say something then turn around and go back inside.

"I have no idea." Jason mumbles back to me as we watch Isaac come back out. I look down at my hands and call on my powers and Jason looks over at me. I place my finger to my lips and poke my head up then shoot my power at them watching it vanish into thin air.

I hold my finger to my lips again and he nods. I clench my fist and instantly we hear everything that's being said.

"Where are they?"

"Obviously gone, William here showed up and fought Skylar and injured Jason, they must've run assuming down thing was wrong." Isaac says and I look over at Jason and he shrugs.

"But they were here, correct?"

"Yes sir."

"Why didn't you turn them in?"

"Because, she's not a threat. Sure she can throw punches but she's just a girl."

"No, she's a Forever! A dangerous as hell one too! We need her blood to get this flan project up and running."

"She will never let you." Isaac bites out

"She doesn't have to let us. Her gift, is incredible and the world must all meet it."

"No, I know why she ran from you, I know why she continues to fight you people. It's a curse, she hates it, she doesn't twang innocent people to suffer like her. She's no fool Grandor, she's the smartest girl I know." Isaac says

"She fell for your switching sides act."

"It wasn't an act, I'm done with you people. Kill me if you must but I will not continue working now for the people like you."

"You're a fool."

"Then so be it. I'm done." Isaac spits

"End him! Find Skylar and Jason!" I scream as a bullet is shot and Isaac falls dead. Instantly all of the people turn to face us and Jason grabs me.

"We gotta get out of here." He says and I nod as we start off.

"After them!"

We sprint through the field not looking back as we go. He continues to hold my hand tight as we sprint and I keep up with his speed somehow. Gun shots sound and we dodge them continuing to sprint.

"There's a road up ahead! We'll lose them there!" I exclaim seeing a bunch of car headlights. We speed up even more and the road gets closer and closer. I see cars whizzing by and I clench onto Jason's hand as we run right at it.

"You ready?"

"I don't think I have another choice." I say then we sprint right into the road hardly dodging the cars as we go.

"A train!" I shout as we dodge the last car and I look over my shoulder watching them get stuck in the traffic. We sprint towards the train as it starts leaving and we slide underneath of it barely making out without being crushed.

We jump up and sprint beside the train hearing gun shots.

"It's open up ahead!" I shout and he nods. We reach our full speed and my les start to ache but. I push through it grabbing hold of the handle bar and swinging myself in. He swings in after me and I slam the door shut and we fall back out of breath.

"That, was crazy." He says and I give him a no shit look then fall back onto my back.
